~ Sneak-peak ~

The morning sun poured gently over the sprawling Randhawa Haveli, washing the walls in a soft golden glow. The garden was alive with the hum of birds, the rustle of leaves, and the sound of laughter, the kind that could only belong to a family at peace.

Years had been nothing but kind to the Randhawa family. Now, Samrat Singh Randhawa was a confident five-year-old, energetic and curious, with his father's mischievous grin and his mother's affectionate eyes. Running right behind him was his younger brother, three-year-old Arjun; chubbier, louder, and as spirited as they come.

"Samrat bhaiya! Mere liye rukiye!" Arjun shouted, his little feet padding across the grass as he tried to keep up with his older brother.

Wait for me!

Harleen watched them from the veranda, her hands wrapped around a steaming cup of tea. A soft smile lingered on her lips as she watched her sons play near the pond, chasing butterflies, laughing freely.

Ranbir stepped out behind her, his eyes instinctively following hers.

"Mujhe lagta hai dono tumhare jaise hai, stubborn aur cute."

I think both of them are just like you, stubborn and cute.

"I'll take that as a compliment," Harleen replied, still smiling, "par aap bhul rahe hain ki unki shararatein aapsi hai."

but you forget the naughty part comes from you.

Ranbir chuckled and slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her close. "Maan lo sohniyo, meri shararatein aapki favourite hai."

Admit it sweetheart, my naughtiness is your favourite.

She laughed, swatting his chest playfully. "Shh! Bacche sun lenge, Bir."

The kids will hear you, Bir.

"Jaise unhe pata hi nahi ke unke papa, unki maa se kitna pyaar karte hai." He whispered near her ear.

As if they don't know how much their father loves their mother.

Her cheeks turned pink, the same way they always did when he flirted, even after all these years.

They stood together for a moment, watching their sons play. Samrat was trying to teach Arjun how to make a paper boat float in the pond. It didn't go too well. Within seconds, Arjun's small hand plunged into the water, splashing it everywhere.

"Arjun! Beta gir jaoge. Sambhal kar." Harleen called out.

Dear, you'll fall in. Be careful.

"Sorry, Maa!" Arjun said quickly, his big eyes widening with innocence. Samrat snickered beside him, and Harleen shook her head.

"Masti bilkul mere jaise hai." Ranbir laughed softly.

He's got my sense of fun.

"Haa aur daant se bachne ki chalanki bhi." She added, rolling her eyes.

And your ability to get away with anything.

"Haan waise tum mujhse zyada der naaraz waise bhi kabhi nahi reh sakti." He grinned.

Well, you never could stay mad at me.

"Aap naraz rehne kahan dete hai."

That's because you never let me.

"Exactly." he said proudly, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
