~ Sneak-peak ~

"Sharuuuuu!! Stop destroying eveything!"

Aakriti paused.

She walked toward the living room with sleepy suspicion only to find her grown husband crouched on the floor, fully engaged in an intense building-block battle with their one-year-old.

Well... more like she was destroying everything he built.

Sharanya Kapadia, named after the morning light, sat in her pink onesie, hair like a messy puffball, cheeks round and rosy, eyes sparkling like her mother's. She was happily knocking down the tower Aarush had constructed for the fourth time, her tiny palms slapping the blocks with exaggerated excitement.

Aarush dramatically clutched his heart.

"Sharuuuu! Papa ne itni mehnat se banaya tha! Why, baby? WHY?"

Dad built this with such hard work!

Sharanya squealed and slapped another block off.

Aakriti bit her lip, watching the scene while leaning against the doorway.

"Good morning, monkeys." Aarush whipped around, eyes instantly warming.

"Good morning, Mrs. Kapadia. Humari beti toh subah se meri zindagi barbaad kar rahi hai."

Our daughter has been ruining my life since morning.

Sharanya spotted her mother and instantly abandoned Aarush, crawling toward her with excited squeals.

"Mummmaaa!!!"

She lifted her daughter up and kissed her soft cheek. "Good morning, my sunshine."

Aarush scoffed. "Wow. You didn't even look this excited when I woke up."

Aakriti smirked. "Tum itne cute nahi dikhtena."

You don't look this cute.

Aarush put a hand on his chest.

"That hurt. You wound me, Kriti."

Aakriti laughed, turning toward the kitchen. "Did you at least make coffee?"

"Already brewing," he replied like a proud husband. "Also cooked breakfast."

Aakriti's eyebrows shot up. "Tumne banaya?"

You cooked?

He leaned against the wall with all the swagger in the world. "Haan, toast and eggs. Aur ek pratha for malkin jo khana na khae toh daanav banjati hai."

Yeah, toast and eggs. And a paratha for madam who turns into a demon if she doesn't eat properly.

She glared. "Aarush!"

Sharanya copied her mother's glare. "Aaa-oosh!"

Aakriti gasped, delighted. "OH MY GOD. SHE SAID YOUR NAME!"
