~ Sneak-peak ~
The morning sun peeked through the ivory curtains of the Singhania mansion, filling the room with a soft golden hue. The faint chirping of birds mingled with the distant laughter of children. It was a sound Maya had grown to love more than anything, the music of her family.
Time had flown by now, Aashna was nine, smart and strong-willed like her mother. Beside her came three-year-old Aanya, who had inherited her father's dimples and her mother's mischievous eyes. And then there was Shaurya, their one-year-old bundle of energy, who had recently discovered that throwing food was the best form of entertainment.
Over the years, Maya continued writing and publishing her art, her poetries. Ever since she found her happiness with her husband and children, her words reflect the joy their hearts share. Arjun continued being the big bad mafia lord and boss that he is in his world but when he's back, he transitions into his most soft self. He's always present and attentive towards his family. A couple years back when Maya announced she was pregnant with Aanya, he was over the moon. Then came his little friend, Shaurya and the family felt complete.
Maya stood by the dining table, wearing a soft pink saree that Arjun claimed made her look "dangerously beautiful." She was pouring orange juice into three cups when she felt a pair of familiar arms wrap around her waist.
"Good morning, Mrs. Singhania." Arjun murmured against her neck, his voice still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning, Mr. Singhania." She replied with a smile, feeling his stubble brush her skin.
"Hmm... Mujhe shabdon se zyada kuch ki umeed thi." He said, tightening his hold slightly.
I was hoping for something a little sweeter than words.
"Arjun, bacchon ke saamne nahi." She giggled.
Arjun, not in front of the kids.
"Papa, Mumma said no romance in the kitchen!" Aashna, sitting cross-legged on the floor with her tablet, called out.
"Traitor!" Arjun turned toward his eldest, feigning shock.
"I heard that!" Maya said, laughing as she moved toward the table.
