autumn
Autumn wasn't sure if it was a compliment and honesty didn't know what to say.
This made her remember that she had tried to kiss Michael.
Luckily, he hadn't mentioned it and she definitely wasn't going to because Autumn knew it was a mistake and she regretted it.
From the look on Michael's face, she guessed that the words just slipped out of his mouth and that he was worried about how she would react.
Not wanting it to seem like what he said made anything between them awkward, because it didn't at all, she smiled and said, "So, like two hours of making out? You'd get bored."
"Not if there was good music playing," He pointed out.
"Like?" The subject was slowly changing to music. Something Autumn could talk for hours about.
Michael tapped a finger against his chin. From the fleeting discussion they had whilst playing video games, Autumn gained knowledge on a few of the bands and songs he liked - all of them she already liked.
"Catfish and the Bottlemen."
Although she knew an abundance of bands, Autumn had never heard of that band before.
"Never heard of them," She sighed, lifting her head off the counter and sitting up.
"You need to listen to them right now."
Sitting up, Michael turned in his seat to face Autumn and held his hand out.
"Can you even walk?" Autumn looked up at him, raising an eyebrow and placing her hand loosely in his.
"That's why I'm holding your hand so if I fall, you fall, too," He laughed, a smirk plastered to his face. Michael laced his fingers with Autumn's as she stood up.
"What about the pasta w-"
"It will be fine."
Michael swung their joint hands as they sauntered out of the kitchen and into the living room.
A smile spread across Autumn's face as she looked over at him and admired how undeniably cute he was.
He caught her gaze and smiled back.
"Are you feeling better?" Autumn asked as they reached the CD player.
"Yes," He answered, releasing Autumn's hand.
She scanned through a few of the CDS on the tall shelf as Michael put Catfish and the Bottlemen's album on.
Once the CD inserted and the first track began to play, they walked over to the couch.
Even though the couch was fairly big, they somehow ended up a mere centimetre from each other.
For the first song they both sat, looking at the blank TV and listening to the music. When that song ended, Michael shuffled slightly and then rested his head on Autumn's shoulder.
A chuckle came from Autumn's lips as his hair tickled her neck.
"This is my favourite. It's called Kathleen." He told Autumn. "The song is about being completely infatuated with someone, so much so that it literally drives you mad and causes you all kind of problems. You can't stop thinking about them, you can't get anything done, you can't think straight, you just want to be with them all the time."
Autumn thought the song was amazing and she liked it even more after finding out the meaning.
She listened intently to the lyrics, Michael's head still resting on her shoulder, and tried to interpret them in a way that made sense with the meaning.
For the next two songs, they didn't speak or move and even though Autumn had a bad habit of always having to be doing something with her hands, the tranquility created from the silence between them and the music, calmed her minds and thoughts.
This was all reminding her of when she was playing video games with him which she felt was so long ago, even though it wasn't, and she really liked being around him
After listening to two more songs, Autumn slowly moved off the couch and stood up.
Michael didn't sit back up but laid down, looking up at Autumn and pouting.
"I'll be back," Autumn laughed, beaming down at him.
Five minutes later, she returned to the living room with a bowl of cooked pasta in hand.
Michael sat back up in his seat and took the bowl from Autumn's hands, giving her an appreciative smile.
She settled down back next to him and listened to the rest of the album, talking occasionally about their favourite albums.

"I'm going on a date so I've got to try and look nice, which will take a long time," Autumn said, glancing at her phone.
She stood up, brushed herself down and readjusted her jacket.
You always look nice, was what Michael wanted to say but didn't.
"Thanks for helping me out," Michael said, moving his gaze from the floor to Autumn.
"Anytime," She said before walking out of the living room and out of sight.
He heard the sound of the door opening and then closing. He let out a sigh and placed the bowl on the table.
Thankfully, the fatigue had diminished and his dizziness was gone.
But so was Autumn.
His feelings when he was around her were ineffable.
It was a bit like the meaning of the song Kathleen, he thought for a moment. Only a few aspects though. He didn't think he was infatuated with Autumn. Not yet, anyway.
Michael did wonder if he would have been the one to ask Autumn on a date if Luke hadn't met her before that band practice. Also, if Luke hadn't answered Michael's phone instead of him.
He was even remembering the fact that Autumn had kissed him and he didn't even get the chance to kiss her back.
It would be Luke kissing her and not him and he didn't know why that bothered him.
