Happiness.

Her glassy eyes are still not brave enough to believe this is truly happening but a small smile is plastered across her face, contradicting her own disbelief. Pihu looks at the hand that coils her hand into its vile grip. After spending so many days with this man, she now knows the meaning of this tight grip. For some unforeseen reasons this huge man holds her close to his cold heart. Her touch comforts him, her presence makes him feel safe and dare she say, happy? Initially she didn't understand if she should be laughing at his silly antics or love his childishness but the more the day of her departure is coming closer a feeling of sadness consumes her from within.

For the past few years she built herself in a way that tolerance and patience became a part of her personality. She could feel everything for this man and act normal, unbothered but now something has changed. As she looks at his peacefully asleep face, all she feels is this deep protectiveness to keep it just that way. It has become a habit for her to look at his face while he remains asleep. She saw him when she couldn't touch him directly and she is seeing him now, as he slowly scoots closer to her body and wraps his arms around her legs that are spread forward. She still remembers when this happened for the first time she felt like her soul is about to come out of her body but now she feels contented, she feels whole.

She adjusts her back against the headboard of her bed. The book is lying beside her. A small groan of protest comes out of Vulcan's throat and she stops her movements. By now his face is placed on her thighs and his one hand is wrapped around her waist while the other is clutching her hand, as if he is still scared of losing her. But there has to be a growing trust somewhere within his subconscious that makes him touch her without any hesitation, without worrying about the consequences. She suddenly feels whole again, as if a small piece of puzzle just fits into the entirety of her life, making it bearable.

This might cost her a lot of back pain at the morning but she is nowhere near complaining. Her slender fingers slowly run through his smooth hair. He releases a soft sound of satisfaction. Her eyes stare at the tattoos peaking out of his white t-shirt. She has seen this many a times but still the intricate tattoo across his left wrist always intrigues her. "Vulcānus", it reads. She still doesn't know how and when her  "Manik" turned into "Vulcan" for the entire world. She doesn't know why he chose this for himself. Her eyes fall on the tattoos peaking out of his left shoulder. She might forever remain shocked of how far he has changed, how much he isn't the old man she used to like. But the more she sees this man and learns about him, her mere liking changes into something even deeper, even scarier. She is frightened that this time she might not be able to remain unbothered, scratch that, she might loose her mind if she doesn't get to see him, hold him close to her.

Something tells her that she is more familiar with this personality of Vulcan than the one she liked before. As if she has seen him being like this from a different birth. She chuckles at her own thoughts.

Tomorrow is a special day. The three brothers are together after a long time and Teressa has announced a bon-fire party on the terrace in celebration of her recovery. What makes her happy is that she can finally participate in it properly, without worrying everyone else.

They decided to set the bonfire under the shaded part of the terrace because apparently the seasonal rain can ruin everything otherwise. She is just elated that they are getting to celebrate something happy before her departure. All of them have been too tensed and too concerned about her situation since a long time now. Above all she has been having this weird sad feeling for the past few days, she doesn't even understand why. Sleep has become difficult for her, something she never experienced before. She gave it a lot of thought and concluded that it has to be her homesickness. She has never been stuck between the four walls for so long.
