Mark My Words.

Using a crutch for the first time can be extremely difficult, Pihu is learning that the hard way. She insisted Arjun to allow her with the crutch even when he kept saying 'no'. After a lot of insistence he finally got convinced and now she is regretting her decision. Her arms are paining like hell now that she sits on the couch. She decided to help Teressa in the kitchen today so she brought the chopper and some vegetables to the living room. That way she could keep her broken leg straight on the couch and cut the vegetables placing the chopper on her lap. She smiles to herself on her smallest contribution.
She spent the entire night sitting beside Vulcan's bed. Throughout the night she came to this conclusion that she has to help him get rid of his inner darkness and only a happy environment can do that for her. He needs to see happy faces, be part of normal conversations, easy gatherings. He can sit separately from others but he will not be alone, she will always stay by his side. He needs to remember how it felt like to be living, breathing, without fearing the pain, the rejections.

She stands up with the help of the crutch. She knows the pain is a lot but she also knows that she needs to get used to it. She stands up without a single problem but the very moment she tries to bend and pick the bowl full of vegetables she has just chopped, her crutch slips. She was just about to fall but two arms hold her from falling to the ground. A sigh of relief leaves her mouth, as she utters,
"Thank God, the bowl could have slipped as well. You're a savior Arjun. "
"You're thinking about the bowl? I am so done with you Pihu." Arjun utters defeatedly. Pihu laughs at his reaction.

"I bother you so much, don't I? You need to....." Her words stop midair as her eyes fall on the tall muscled figure standing on the last stair and his body language screams he is furious. Arjun follows her gaze and his eyes fall on Vulcan. His upper body is cloth less, his hair dishelleved and his eyes bloodshot. He is breathing heavily as if he came running. His grey eyes flicker between Pihu and Arjun for a fleeting second before he clenches his jaw and turns around, ascending the stairs again.

When he opens his eyes the excruciating pain in his head blurs his vision for a few seconds but he forces his body to sit up straight. She was here, he knows her smell. He closes his eyes for a second, breathing into her lingering fragrance.
"Pihu." He utters. As if she will come running to him right about now. But nothing like that happens. His room is still as empty as it has always been. But this overwhelming urge keeps pushing him from within. He needs her right now, he needs to see her, touch her once again. He needs to verify that all the memories coming back to him aren't mere imaginations. He stands up but his entire body protests, he feels drowsy. He pulls out the saline dripper hastily making his wrist bleed. Like a madman he strides, strides towards her room. As if a second's delay can cause his heart to stop beating. But her room is empty. "Where is she", he mumbles to himself. Without thinking twice he speed walks towards the stairs and starts descending. But his steps falter the moment his eyes land on the scene unfolding in front of him. He stops and stands like a statue. Arjun has his arms wrapped around her waist, while she is talking to him. Her laughter plunges through his stone heart like a sharp knife. Anger. His senses get overpowered by pure fury. She looks up at him, surprise crosses through her face. She opens her lips to utter something but he turns around before she even gets to start.

He almost runs inside his room and falls on his knees. He has never felt like this before, what is happening to him? He holds his head within both of his hands and bends down to the floor. The headache is increasing as he growls like a wild animal. Then all of a sudden he feels it, her presence, right behind him. The alluring smell that draws him towards her like a moth towards flame.

"What do you want?!' He snaps without even looking at her.

"Right now, I just want you to look at me." Pihu answers as calmly as possible.
