Like Father Like Son.

"My precious little Manik,

I have no right to write a single word to you but I have to. I have been the worst dad ever and I know that. No apologies in this entire world can save my evil soul or change the fact that I, Agni Raj Nagpati, have been an utter disappointment as a husband and as a father. Funny, that I am still breathing on this earth and people who deserved to live are no more.

You, my son, have always been a blessing, a true blessing. A light in a room full of darkness. I was scared to face that light in you Manik, to face those bright, innocent eyes. Your mother knew, she knew about the darkness lurking within me so she kept you away.. far away from me. She herself stayed away. Because she knew the truth Manik. And your brothers - they were cursed, or more like punished to be born with the darkness I always harboured within me. I couldn't save them from the dark shadow of my character traits. I couldn't. Because I dragged them into my gloom and they, unknowingly, became more like me. I regret, regret ever trying to make them like me.

Daivik was always smarter, distanced himself from me with time but handled the  business like a true pro. He took shelter under your mother, got to breathe a little around her but Ritwik.. he took time, time to understand how I, his beloved father, am exploiting his emotional vulnerabilities to achieve my selfish goals. I made him do things a child should never be introduced to, should never get closer and he did because I told him to. I destroyed him with my own bare hands. And that's why when he discovered that, realized what I have been doing to him, he left for good. I know if I die today, he won't come to see my lifeless face even out of formality. I planted the first seed of hatred within him with my own hands.

I can't apologies to them for my misdeeds anymore, apologies won't change what I have already done and destroyed. A chance at a good, healthy.. and perhaps happy family."

The car keeps moving closer towards the Sharma Mansion. It's just about two more turns and she will be at her destination  But something just doesn't add up. Since the moment she saw that old man yesterday her heart has been beating faster. Something about him screams fishy. The uneasiness she felt was not usual. She is certain she has seen him somewhere, heard his voice but where? Why does it feel like this man is a threat not only to her but to Manik? She just needed to find out if her gut feeling truly has a root but the way this car is moving towards the given location, she now started to think otherwise. She might have been wrong and truly overthinking.

The car however stops some five hundred meters away from the mansion. Her body stiffens. She holds her breath and immediately leaves a small text message to Vivek.

"It's time." Then immediately deletes it, leaving no records.

Then she straightens her posture and asks the driver,

"What happened? Why are we stopping here?" The driver remains silent.

"I know you're not deaf. Why are we stopping?" The man still remains silent. His eyes fixed at the other side of the road, at another black car which is moving towards them. Pihu reluctantly tries to unlock the door and as believed finds them locked.

"What is going on?" She raises her phone to call Dashis and that's when the driver turns around snatching the phone out of her hands.

The door to the car opens and in comes the man she did all these for: Rakshit Sharma. Her obsidian eyes look straight into his old brown eyes.

"What are you upto?" She asks without any hesitation. The old man's face breaks into the creepiest smile.

"Dashis was right, you truly are calm and collected, anyone else would have made a scene by now. Although we had backups for that as well." He points towards a small bottle held tightly insides the driver's fist: chloroform.
