A requested topic by one of my fellow loyal readers.
This, by far, is probably one of the most controversial topics dealing with black people ever. Hell this probably has been going on since slavery. I thought that eventually and at least by now we would get past this. Boy, wasn't I wrong.
Today's topic: Lightskin vs. Darkskins
I don't like the battle competition shit thing going on between lightskins and darkskins. At the end of the day, we all black. When slavery comes back around, WE ALL going down. When it comes to a black person committing a crime, they don't give a good god damn if your skin color is caramel up until doo doo brown. They don't cut no slack. WE'RE ALL BLACK IN THEIR EYES. Why can't we all get that through our thick skulls?
Personally speaking, I am what you consider a light skin female. However, before I turned one, I used to be chocolate complexion. You know, after I turned one, I just naturally lightened up. Hell, as the days go by, I'm getting lighter and lighter. I guess that's what happens when your pops is high yellow as fuck. No offense, but sometimes my daddy be looking like a Mexican. And he's short too. But yeah, I'm not really a yellow bone or a red bone. I'm just..... light brown. Does that make sense?
Anywho, regardless of what anybody has to say, I LOVE DARKSKIN PEOPLE. Especially dark/chocolate complexed men? Lawwwwddddddd. I don't care what anyone says, that is my weakness. He be over there looking like a big ol' chocolate sculpture. I think dark women are beautiful, but however still receive the unfair treatment because of their complexion.
You do not let anyone define you or make you feel bad about your skin complexion. And it ain't easy being lightskin. We don't receive any more or any less fair treatment. I'm still black. For all my dark skin girls out there, you're gorgeous.
And please stop that motherfucking hashtag talm bout some #LightskinGirlsWinning, #DarkskinsDoItBetter. Cut the bullshit. We all winning. We are all beautiful nubian queens. Why does it have it be a competition? Like I really don't understand. Are we still bowing down to European standards or is it the social media praising light skin and mixed girls that makes you feel insecure?
What is YOUR skin complexion? Are you confident about your color?
This is the end of my rant, obviously. Any suggestions? Any tips? Y'all gotta dollar? I'm broke as fuck. You know, my wallet is on a year round drought. Ion care 'cause I might get a job soon. I don't know how I'm going to balance that and my school work. In case you didn't know, I'm trying really hard to graduate early. So instead of me being #CO2018, I could be #CO2017.
What year y'all graduate(ing/ed)? Lemme know. Anyways, I'll see y'all in the next rant.
Wait, before I go, should I continue Midnight Session tonight? I mean, I just wanna know.
