"Hey, where do you think you're going?"
Clarence asked exasperatedly.
Melody looked back at him frowning as she quickly stirred her shoulder to remove his hands on it.
"Somewhere else where there's no Y. O. U."
Clarence leaned on the wall beside the door while crossing his arms.
"It's supposed to be our first honey moon remember?…
Our parents might still be down stairs and have decided to just stay until morning.
What do you suppose they would think when they saw you sneaking somewhere else?"
Melody moved her hand off the door knob.
She had to agree with that.
If she were caught, then it might blow their cover.
Then viola! They’ll all find out that they were just acting and that they were never really in love.
"Know what, maybe you should diet some more. Maybe the fats are already clogging your brain cells. I could have received a best actor award for pretending I was into our honeymoon in front of them. Not to mention they didn't even get a hint that I was struggling like I was lifting a car while carrying you. Then you plan to go outside and ruin my efforts?"
Of course Clarence didn't mean that.
Truth be told, he is used lifting weights during the years he spend in the gym.
It was just a joke, just like other silly pranks he threw on her before, but Melody was already hurt.
He also didn't intend both of them to fall on the bed.
His thoughts were of Cindy, the girl whom should have been with him right now.
The thought somewhat made his knees weak and so he went off balance.
Or maybe it is the fact that Melody is still a bit heavy.
He looked at Melody as she walked and sat towards the couch on the other side of the room near the glass door towards the terrace.
She silently reached for the remote and flipped through the channels on the flat screen T.V. attached on the blue painted wall.
She brushed off what he had just said and was acting as if he isn't there.
This is how she always acts whenever he pisses her way too much.
And it was seldom that she talks or even fights back.
It was known to both of them that Melody would just end up losing anyway.
Clarence was close enough to making it clear that he won yet again this time.
But he saw Melody's teary eyes staring blankly at the T.V. screen.
This arranged marriage could be as inconvenient to her as it is to him. It somehow made him pity her as well.
"Okay, look. What happened awhile ago... I did it because I felt really exhausted but everyone seemed to go on and on with the chatter, so I thought of something to get away with it. And I didn't really mean for us to stumble on the bed, I went off balanced. Sorry."
He said seriously.
Melody sniffled as she turned to look at him.
"Well you could have done something else less stupid than that!"
