Over the moon.
That’s exactly what Melody has been feeling for the past few months.

“Melody? Hello? Melodyyyy!?” She heard Krizzy chimed from the other line, causing Melody to wake up from her drifting thoughts.

“Yeah? I’m here. I was just uhh…  preparing coffee. Anyway, what were you saying?” She lied, tightening the grip on her phone dreading for her best friend not to catch onto it.

“Really? I swear I didn’t hear any rustling or pouring… Anyway… “
Melody sighed in relief when Krizzy brushed it off and proceeded on telling her about her new job.
She couldn’t tell her that she was particularly remembering how Clarence, now, routinely kiss her good night, and the variety of truffles he’s been giving her almost every week. These sweet little gestures of his really got into her. Almost making her swoon every time.
Should she admit to Krizzy that she was lost deep in thoughts because of Clarence?

Definitely not.

Krizzy was a witness of her and Xander’s love story and had known them for years. The girl literally went fuming after hearing just recently  what Xander did. Even just from the screen on her phone the redness on her face was undeniably noticeable, she could have sworn there’d be smoke coming out her ears, that night when she video called her to finally tell her about Xander.

The guy was Krizzy’s close friend too, so it took her time to open it up to her. She must have been hurt as well about how they broke up and how Xander turned into a complete jerk to her. Melody doubted that her best friend will be all that supportive with this sudden whirlwind of emotions she has now for Clarence.

And say, she muster up courage to tell her about it, Krizzy will definitely interrogate her with details until they dive down even to her sex life. Melody squinted. She’s not sure she’s ready yet to tell her best friend she already lost her v card. - To her long time frienemy none the least. - Not that she ever regretted losing it to Clarence though.
Another sigh escaped her lips, she has to update her best friend soon.

“There’s this newly opened café near my work. I heard their bubble tea is awesome. How about we go there this Friday? My treat.” Despite Krizzy not seeing it, Melody smiled over the phone. Her friend loves milk tea and she could have sworn the girl has checked out almost all the known café that sells it.

“Hmm. Let me check my schedule. I believe I have an article to turn in by Friday… “

“Oh come on! Don’t be like that to your beautiful and awesome best friend. We seldom meet you know!?”
Melody let out the snicker she’s been holding.
“I’m kidding! I’m free this Friday. After all, I know how much you miss me. So… “

“What? We both know it’s you who misses me more!” Krizzy cut her off.

Before she could mange a comeback Clarence came out of no where and hugged her from behind.
“Hi babe, I’m home.” He greeted and then planted a kiss on her cheek. Another routine he now does each time he comes home from work.

“Hi. I’ll have dinner ready in a few.” She responded to him, motioning to her phone and he went upstairs after giving her another peck on the lips.

“I-is that Clarence? Damn you guys are getting good at this play pretend. I swear, I heard some smooching-”

“What!? No! We just faked it… cause you know, his brother’s living with us too… “ She whispered, not buying even her own lie.

“You know. I’ve been thinking, what if you fall for Clarence though.” Suddenly she felt a lump in Melody's throat, making her want to cough. Goodness! She wanted to end the call right then and there, as droplets of sweat form on her forehead and her hands start to go cold.
“Y-you think that could ever happen?“ She did her best to sound surprised.
