Declan just stared at her as if she were speaking a foreign language. In facet it might have been easier if she had been because Declan wouldn't be able to understand. For a moment he could picture the keeper of the sea and lets just say his thoughts of him were anything but nice. Even though Declan helped in his downfall he just couldn't allow Loreley to take Matthew to the depths of the ocean.
' I can't let you take him Loreley. People will ask questions if he goes missing and they will come investigate,' he said trying to bargain Matthew's freedom. Even if Declan didn't like Matthew, he was a good friend of his mother's and Declan thought she needed all the friends that she could get on an island like this.
'What, you want me to let him walk free without a scratch. I don't think so. I have waited to long to break this curse and nobody, not even your Declan can stand in my way.' Her golden eyes shot flames as she stood stiff with her fists clenched against her sides as if awaiting a blow from Declan. Even if Loreley was a killer she wouldn't expect him to bit her right? After all even if she wasn't exactly human she was still a girl and he couldn't do that to her no matter what she did to him.

"He will remember eventually even if I do administer it to him," she said while looking down at the body between them. If they were going to come up with a plan they needed to do it fast because Matthew was awakening from whatever Loreley had done to him.
"Yes he might remember eventually but it would buy us some time in figuring out our next move." She didn't agree but she didn't disagree either. Declan could tell that the fight with Matthew had weakened her. But even weak she still seemed to be able to fight.
"Fine. Wait here with him and if he wakes up hit him again," she said as she was walking away.
"But what if he wakes and overpowers me?" He yelled out to her.
She walked back over, obviously exasperated.
"Then you use this." She said as she handed him a knife
