Declan stared at his father for a long time. He couldn't seem to grasp the meaning of the words but he understood them completely. He couldn't be dead. Loreley would never have let it happen, he thought. But the longer he stood there looking at his father who was looking back at him with the saddest blue eyes seemed to make Declan more and more on edge.

"I...I can't be dead...I didn't even drink the whole mixture..." He was speaking more to himself than to his father. As if he was trying to convince himself of the situation.

"Declan, Loreley is not someone I want you around. She is dangerous and merciless. She is not someone I would mess around with Declan." his father told him sternly.

"Then what was the whole deal about that you made with her?" Declan asked him. Declan was watching his fathers face. he saw it change from shocked to confusion then finally to anger.

"The fact that she would even mention it is how untrustworthy she is." he muttered to himself in silent rage. His father was lightly quivering with unchecked anger.

"What was the deal dad?" Declan asked getting to his feet. she was still to dizzy to do nothing but slump back down again.

"She promised my soul would not be taken like the rest." he explained " That I would not move on until I saw my family again."

"Wait, is this heaven?" he asked his after looking around the white room for what seemed like the hundredth time. Declan was still struck that not one stain painted those pristine white walls.

His father have him a grim smile

"No son, this is not heaven, I fear that I will never make it that far decky," he said while looking so fascinatingly at the wall. Declan was confused. His father had never done anything that seemed bad. But then again Declan was second guessing everything he knew. He couldn't be dead. He refused to believe it.

Declan suddenly felt a tug in his chest. he fell to the floor clutching the skin above his breast. The white light of the room filling his head and making him dizzy all over again.

"The darkness approaches." Declans father says with a dark look on his face. Declan looked up at his father, the white rooom around them was fading rapidly into his mind, searing it like a fresh brand. Declan could swear he could hear someone calling him. But the voice was so faded and disoriented that he couldn't place it. Declan was suddenly pulled from the white room. He was moving at godspeed, and he couldn't stop.

Mere seconds later he was standing on a familiar stretch of beach. There was movement in front of him but his eyes were hazed  over and all he could see were hazy sillouettes. But he could hear everthing.

"DECLAN!!!! DON'T YOU LEAVE ME DAMMIT!! COME ON DECLAN BREATHE!!!!" Loreley yelled as she screamed at the corpse on the ground. The picture before him slowly came into focus. Loreley was kneeling beside a still figure on the beach. Her face was pained as she gave him CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation.

"Declan please! Don't leave me please!" She yelled at the corpse as she pressed on his chest.

The last thing Declan remembered was her scream.......
