Namjoon POV:

The buzzing didn't stop. My phone vibrated against the table again, but I quickly slid it back and shut my eyes. If she wakes up, I don't want her to feel awkward. I'll just... pretend I'm asleep. I could feel her shifting. First her hand slipped away from clutching my shirt, then her head lifted from my chest. My heartbeat was beating very fast but I stayed frozen, breathing slow, hoping she wouldn't notice.

Y/N's POV

The faint buzzing pulled me out of my sleep. My lashes fluttered open, and the first thing I saw was soft fabric under my cheek... no, not fabric Namjoon's shirt. My heart skipped. My head was resting on his chest, my arm curled against him like I'd been clinging to him.

For a second, it felt like déjà vu. The last time I fell asleep like this, I remembered how peaceful it felt, how steady his heartbeat had sounded beneath my ear. And here I was again, so close to him that I could feel every rise and fall of his breath. I slowly lifted my head, and my hand slipped away from his shirt. My heart raced even faster when I realized - he wasn't asleep. His heartbeat was too fast, too uneven. He was pretending. Pretending so I wouldn't feel awkward. Thoughtful, as always.

But then, another thought struck me. Wait... what if he's the one who's actually feeling awkward right now? The idea made my stomach twist. I got lost in my own spiral until -  The phone buzzed again.

I reached over lightly, touching his arm. "Joon... someone's calling."

Namjoon's POV

Her voice was soft, careful. I forced a stretch, blinking my eyes open slowly, as if I'd just been woken up. "Mm? Oh... thanks." I fumbled for my phone, making it look natural. The screen lit up Jin hyung.

I answered quickly. "Hyung?"

"Where are you?" Jin's voice came through, half amused, half scolding. "It's 8:45 already. Aren't you and Y/N supposed to be here for dinner?"

My eyes flickered to her for a brief second. She was pretending to look elsewhere, though I knew she was listening.

"Oh, right," I said, feigning casualness. "I... fell asleep for a bit. I'll be there now. Don't worry."

"Come straight here," Jin instructed warmly. "Everyone's waiting."

"Got it, hyung. I'm coming." I hung up, exhaling quietly. Turning to Y/N, I added lightly, "Jin hyung's waiting for us. We should head to his flat."

Both of us stood up almost at the same time. I tucked my phone into my pocket, and Y/N adjusted her hair like she was trying to shake off the traces of sleep.

"You go first, Joon," she said softly, giving me a small smile. "I'll come in a few minutes."

I nodded. "Okay. Don't be late, they'll all be waiting."

With that, I headed out of her flat, leaving the door to click shut behind me.

Jin's POV

When I called Namjoon earlier, I'd done it from his flat. I'd gone to check if he was ready for dinner, but he didn't pick up the first time. When he finally answered, he said he was sleeping but he is not at his place. If he didn't want to say, then I wouldn't ask.

I stepped into the lift to head back up to my own flat. Just as the doors were about to close, they slid open again and there he was. Namjoon walked out from Y/N's flat. His hair was slightly messy, his shirt wrinkled, and his eyes carried that heavy-lidded softness only sleep could give. For a moment, I just stood there quietly, watching him. He slept.
