Captain Levi

Captain Levi flew, a blur of motion and malice. Every Titan that stumbled into his path was met with a sickening metallic sound as his blades carved through the nape. Erwin's mad, desperate charge was working, giving Levi the perfect chance to butcher the Beast. He grimaced, the sight of his Commander leading those recruits to their fate—titan fodder—a source of cold, sickening rage. Stupid bastard.

And Birdie. His entire fucking squad. The memory of the mushroom cloud that swallowed the city was a fresh, internal agony—the absolute, horrifying certainty that she was gone. He let the rage consume him, drive him to slice another nape.

The flares continued to arc overhead, blinding the colossal target. Slam. Another Titan crumpled beneath him. Levi fought to keep his mind a perfectly empty chamber; no room for Birdie, no room for Erwin. Just the Beast Titan and his blades.

He cleared the smoke of the final grenade, grappling his hook onto the Beast Titan's shoulder. A low, feral growl escaped Levi's throat as he faced the monster, his eyes narrowing to focused slits.

The Beast Titan roared, swinging its massive arm up to swat him from the air.

But Levi was too quick.

He was a whisper of steel, shredding through the massive forearm before the Beast Titan could even blink. The creature couldn't track him. One second, Levi was in front; the next, he was behind.

Levi went for the eyes next, feinting an attack on the nape, forcing the Beast Titan to shield its weakest point, only to strike its face instead. Next, the ankles. Specifically, the Achilles tendons. Levi slashed, a grunt of exertion escaping him as he seamlessly sliced both, causing the Beast Titan to drop first to its knees, and then to its stomach, its nape perfectly exposed.

Captain Levi was seething. Pure adrenaline coursed through his veins, mingled with an annihilating fury.

"What's wrong?" Levi yelled down at the paralyzed Beast, fury coating his voice. "Not enjoying yourself anymore?"

He went for the creature's other hand, shredding it to bits before landing on the nape. He meticulously sliced through the tissue where the man's arms and legs would attach, ensuring their removal when he pulled him out.

Levi felt with his boot for the right spot, gliding it across the Titan's neck before plunging his blade and slicing the man inside free. The man screamed, falling back as Levi thrust his blade directly into the man's mouth.

Levi leaned closer, blood dripping down his face. "If you're injured enough, your body won't let you transform again? Right?"

The man groaned, unable to talk. Levi shoved his blade deeper into the man's mouth, blood pooling around the embedded steel.

"Hey, I asked you a question," Levi seethed, twisting the blade. "It's only polite to answer."

The man stared up in raw horror. Just as Levi moved to finish him, the Four-Legged Titan swooped in, forcing Levi to stumble back. It snapped the screaming shifter into its mouth and bolted.

Levi hurled a grappling hook, but the Titan was too fast. His eyes widened in disbelief at the sight of his kill vanishing. He threw that fucking barrel. He threw the rocks at his Commander.

He threw off the paralyzing realization, noticing the other, larger Titans had begun to move. "Fuck," he breathed. "I made a promise to kill him."

And then he attacked. And attacked. And attacked. He didn't stop until his muscles screamed and his vision began to spot with black, but he kept going. After dispatching the remaining Titans, he maneuvered to the top of the Wall where the Four-Legged Titan had fled.
