A Knock in the Heart

By the time Camila wakes up Lauren is not in bed anymore. It is about eight in the morning when she walks out of their bedroom, the house was quiet the only noise you could hear was coming from the kitchen.

"Good Morning" says Camila, from the kitchen door.

Lauren looks up and smiles, looking at Camila already changed and ready for her day. Lauren is already preparing breakfast, almost done.

"Good Morning we are having pancakes, bacon and hash potato" Lauren informs her wife. Camila smiles, feeling really hungry now. "Good Morning Ariel" says Camila to the little girl. Ariel looks up and smiles at her before going back to coloring as she waits for her breakfast.

"I would help you but you know I can't cook" says Camila sitting next to Ariel. Lauren looks at her as she puts the last bacon on the plate. "Well, you can cook now, you actually used to make breakfast for Ariel before taking her to school" Lauren tells Camila who looks surprised at her.

"What? I can cook?" asks Camila, not believing what Lauren just told her.

"Uhu"

Lauren prepares Camila and Ariel's plate and brings it to the table. Camila moves Ariel's stuff to the side for Lauren to place the little girl's breakfast.

"Aren't you eating?" asks Camila as Lauren doesn't sit to eat breakfast with them. "No, I eat a bit while preparing breakfast" Lauren says as she puts away everything she uses for breakfast. The truth is that she is feeling nauseous this morning and can stand the smell of bacon.

Camila goes back to eating without suspecting a thing.

"Has this been all my mornings? Having a beautiful wife and daughter, I can't believe I forgot about everything, something so beautiful" Camila clears her mind before going back to eat.

Lauren goes to check on Ariel making sure she is eating everything and placing a cup of juice for her.

"I'm going to go put some laundry on the washing machine" she informs Camila who just nods.

A few hours later...

The girls have been having a good time playing with Ariel, they wanted to stay at home and be together as Camila wanted to have more time with them.

Ariel is having a tea party with her stuffed animals along with Camila and Lauren.

"Would you like more tea?" asks Camila to Ariel who giggles at the invisible tea being served and Lauren pretends to drink some of her tea. Lauren is having a good time when suddenly she had to get up and run to the bathroom feeling nauseous. Camila turns to look at her worry.

"I'll be right back" she tells Ariel who just keeps playing not paying any attention to what is going on. Camila stands and walks out of the living room trying to figure out where Lauren went. It doesn't take long to find when she hears her throwing up and she makes her way to the bathroom. She knocks lightly and opens the door not waiting for Lauren to answer. Camila quickly holds her hair back and rubs her back trying to comfort her.

Lauren stops throwing up and flushes the toilet feeling exhausted. She sits on the floor with her back to the bathtub, her knees folded and her elbows resting on her knees as she holds her head.

"Are you alright?" asks Camila genuinely, worried about her as she kneels in front of her. Lauren is still in shock even though she knows she's pregnant and she knows she won't be able to hide it any longer.

"I'm pregnant" Lauren admits in a small voice, not wanting to look Camila in the eyes.

Camila freezes on the spot. "The baby is mine?" asks Camila in a low voice as it sinks in. Camila's emotions are all over the place. Lauren looks at her now with unshed tears and just nods in fear of everything. Camila is in shock, it is barely sinking in that she is married to her best friend and now she finds out she got her pregnant.
