Derp Camp

Chapter 3

Sydney's POV:
After our 5SOS Fam meeting we went back to our rooms. Me and Lauren wanted to go swimming so we got changed. I wore an all black Triangl brand swimsuit, with white Ray Bans. I put my hair up in a messy bun and through on some flip flops. I grabbed a towel, my phone, and a speaker. Lauren wore a white bandeau with black bottoms. She grabbed her towel and we began walking toward the pool. Calum walked passed us.
"You guys going swimming?" He asked me.
"No, we just like walking around in our swim suits. " I said sarcastically laughing.
"Sorry, I ask stupid questions sometimes. Mind if I join you guys?" He asked laughing slightly.
"Sure. If anybody else wants to go they're welcome to. " I said nodding as I went outside. We sat our stuff down on some chairs. I pulled out my phone and speaker.
"Mind if I put on my playlist?" I asked Lauren.
"No, not at all. " she responds just as Calum walks outside.
"Nobody else wanted to come?" I ask.
"No, but Luke will be down in a second he was changing. " Calum said sitting his towel down.
"Oh okay. Like I just asked Lauren, do you mind if I play my playlist?"
"Oh god, your n-sync playlist?" He asked smirking.
"You wish. You'll just have to find out. " I said just as Luke walked in.
"What do you think Luke? Should we let her play her music?" He asks Luke as he places his towel down next to calums.
"Eh I say we give her a shot. But if we don't like it then we're changing it to ours. " he said to me. I plugged my phone into the speaker and pulled up the first song. Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana. I went over to the diving board and did a cannon ball, being the first person in the pool.
"Really are you guys just gonna stand there or are you actually gonna get in?" I said swimming over to the side to see them.
"I'm gonna go for it. " Luke said doing the exact same thing I did. He swam over to where I am and crosses his arms sitting them on the edge and resting his head on them.
"Guys the water isn't cold. " he says.
"Fine. " Lauren says instead of going on the diving board she walks over to Calum and grabs his hand.
"You first." She says pointing to the water.
"If I go down," he said jumping.
"I'm taking you down with me. " he says taking her wrist at the last second. Pulling Lauren in as well. Me and Luke swam over to them.
"Now was that so hard?" I ask them.
"Shut up. " Calum said. The song changed to This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco.
"You know I wasn't expected Nirvana or Panic! At The Disco from you. I thought for sure you'd be listening to some boy band." Calum said.
"What like you? Because your cover of American Idiot is next. " I said laughing.
"We aren't a boy band!" Luke said.
"Well you're all boys right? And you're a band. So boy-band. " I said.
"It's different we play instruments. " Calum said.
"Anyway.." Lauren said breaking the tension a little bit.
"Hey! Is it okay if I join?" A girl asked.
"Yeah sure, Ashley. " Calum said. So her name is Ashley. Okay then.
She got in and we all instantly became friends.
"Is that a DJ station I see over there?" I ask pointing to the bar-like table.
"Yeah, why?" Luke asks me.
"I was just wondering." I said shrugging it off.
After about two hours in the pool I got out. I laid down on my chair and played on my phone, still managing to sit in a way so that my music would still be playing even though I was using it. I had a couple of texts. The first was from my mom.
M: so how's camp so far?
S: pretty fun actually.
The next was from Mia she was asking pretty much the same question.
M: how's it going? You like it? They're cute right?
S: it's going good. I like it here. And yes they're cute. Maybe I'll have a bf at the end of the summer
After I sent that text I got off my phone and just started to tan. I could sense someone next to me.
"You weren't a fan were you?" Luke asks from the chair next to me.
"No. I've never even heard of you guys. My mom made me come, but I'm glad she did because I'm liking it so far." I said looking forward at him.
"I could tell. You're different from the others. You treat us like regular people. Not famous people. " he says.
"Well you are regular people, you just have an abnormal job. " I responded matter-of-factly
"Glad you're not like them. It can get annoying really quick. " he says taking a breath. By now 21 Guns by Green Day is playing.
"I love Green Day. " I say to myself.
"It's one of my favorite bands. " Luke says next to me.
"Really?" I ask him curiously.
"Oh yeah. What bands do you like?" He asks.
"Well obviously Green Day, Panic! At The Disco, Nirvana, Blink 182, a touch of Good Charlotte, and my absolute favorite is All Time Low. " I respond.
"What? Did you get that off of a fans website?" He asks me.
"No, you asked for my honest answer. I'm not lying." I say smiling.
"Then why are you smiling?" He asks me.
"Because I think it's cute how freaked out you are because someone actually shares an interest with you. " I said still smiling.
"Really? You think I'm cute?" He asks me smirking.
"I didn't say that!" I say defensively.
"I was thinking it." I correct him.
