Chapter 9

Sydney's POV:
"Sorry about Cal. He's the real douche." Lauren said sitting next to me.
"Whatever. I don't really care anyway I mean this is only like my fifth day here. There's always gonna be other guys." I say pulling out my phone.
"I like the way you think. " Lauren says pulling he phone out as well.
"Oh, and what's going on with Luke? I saw him, like, walk you to the room? Anything happen?" She asks me.
"Not much. He wanted something to happen though." I say.
"No, there's more I can tell. What'd you do?" She asks scooting closer to me.
"Fine, I friend zoned him. " I say.
"Ouch that's gotta hurt. Why'd you do that?" She asks.
"Because if he really liked me then why did he sleep with someone?" I ask shifting uncomfortably.
"We'll have you seen Jessica? She does kinda look like you. And out of all of us he got really drunk that night, maybe..." She says pulling her drink to her mouth.
"Maybe he thought it was you. " she says into the cup. I practically choke.
"What? Like id hook up with someone on like the second day we met. I'm not that kind of person. " I scoff.
"Try telling Calum that. " she says getting off of my bed.
"Shit. I'm such a hypocrite." I say.
"Whatever, what's done is done. " I say getting up and walking to the door.
"Where are you going?" She asks from her bed.
"I think I'm gonna go for a walk, Luke finally showed me the trail. " I say grabbing a light jacket and walking out the door. I walked down the hallway and made it to the stairs, walking down them fast. I just about ran to the door but I bumped into someone.
"Hey, Sydney. Where're you goin?" Calum asks from the kitchen.
"A walk. Why?" I ask turning the knob behind me.
"Can I join you?" He says stepping closer to me.
"Don't you have some whore to fuck in the other room?" I say opening the door and walking out. I jogged down past the lake, past the tree house and to the beach. I sat at the edge of the water. Bringing my knees to my chest and resting my chin on them. My phone went off, I grabbed it and looked.
It was from Mia.
M: we need to talk
S: what happened?
M: this happened
She typed, attached to it was a picture of me and Calum holding hands.
S: where'd you get this?
M: everyone knows
S: just so you know, we're not a thing
M: this pic says otherwise
S: oh please we've only been together for two days and he already cheated on me
M: never mind. I'll clarify that to everyone
S: whatever I can't wait till I get home
"So, you come here often?" Michael asked sitting next to me.
"No, Luke finally showed me the trail." I say looking at him.
"Oh. What's going on with Luke and you? And Calum?" He asks me.
"Nothing. " I say standing up.
"No there's definitely something going on. " he says going after me.
"Fine, but it's just a bunch of drama." I say heading back into the woods.
"Good 'cause I love drama. Spill. " he says walking next to me.
"Okay, I caught Calum cheating on me-" he cut me off.
"Were you guys ever really a couple?" He asks.
"I thought we were. " I say back.
"Anyway, continue. " he says.
"Like I was saying, he was having too much fun with another girl. Then I was really vulnerable and Luke kinda took advantage of that and said how he liked me a lot and I told him how I liked him too. But then I friend zoned him. " I finish.
"Wow your life is like a soap opera. " he says.
"You're so weird. " I say as we pass the tree house.
"I guess you could say that. I'm going to a hair appointment tomorrow and I was wondering what color I should dye it next?" He says.
"Do something no one will ever see coming. Like pink or lavender. " I say as we reach the dock.
"Pink it is. Thanks. " he says as we head out separate ways.
"No problem. " I say entering the house. I walk up the stairs and start down my hallway.
"Jig-ally-puff. Jigglypuff. " I hear Ashton start singing.
"What are you doing?" I ask laughing as he prances down the hallway.
"I don't really know. I'm bored." He says laughing too.
"We should make a keek!" He exclaims.
"Oh dear lord. What's a keek?" I ask confused.
"It's a thirty second video. " he responds.
"Oh so it's like a vine." I say relieved.
"I don't know what that is but okay. " he says taking out his phone.
"Why don't you just do your Jigglypuff thing I'll record it. " I say as he hands me the phone.
"Okay. " he says. I hit record and he starts doing his thing. It finishes and I hand him back his phone.
"Thanks. " he says as I start walking back to my room.
"Your welcome. " I say entering the room.
"How was your walk?" Lauren asks from her bed.
"Interesting. " I say laying down on mine.
"Well I'm tired. Night. " she says turning off her light.
"Goodnight. " I say turning off mine and falling asleep.
