Derp Camp

Chapter 16

Sydney's POV:
I woke up dazed and confused. Why the hell was Luke sleeping with me?! The sun peaked through the curtains, and I noticed Lauren wasn't in her bed either.
     It took a few months before the events from yesterday hit me. I was about to grab my phone and I realized j really couldn't move. I looked down and saw Luke's protective arm around my waist. Carefully, I stretched my arm out to my nightstand, grabbing my phone off of it.
    Quickly I noticed I had several new messages.
Lauren: me and boo.

Attached was a picture of them snuggling. Michael was asleep with his pink hair more vibrant then ever. Lauren looked happy, which is all that matters. Then I scrolled down to the next message.

Mom: decided to check in on you, how's camp? Met any cute boys? New drama? We should meet at the cafe for lunch. Wait how can you get here? Never mind. Just text me all the details.

Sheesh, she's really nosy. I wonder if she's just bored. I quickly responded back.

Me: Camps fine like every other time you've asked. I've met a few cute boys but nothing's been serious. Actually one just left to go back to Australia for being naughty. Anyway, gotta go get breakfast. Bye!

I responded leaving her chat and going into my next text. Finally! My best friend.

Mia: Hey! Haven't checked on you. Hawaii is awesome. Me and Tyler have definitely gotten more serious btw. Whatever happened with you and Calum?

Great, now I have to tell another person what happened.

Me: Calum. Right. Well he did some bad things to me and other campers and was sent back home to Australia. So that's that. What do you mean you and Tyler are serious?!

She responded instantly.

Mia: oh, that sucks about Calum. He was cute. Any other boys you have ur eyes on? And Tyler and I have our own hotel room, if that answers your question. I'm just sad cuz we leave Hawaii in a couple weeks. These free mani and pedis have been so nice!

Me: Aw poor you. Actually I have eyes for someone at the moment. I'll show you.

     I responded attaching a pic of me and Luke. Luke was still sleeping, his eyes closed, with his arm around me. I made a weird face and took the picture. Me with my bubble cheeks and cross eyes, and he with his flopped hair, and mouth slightly curled into a smile. I pressed send and waited for her response.

Mia: Ah I see. Luke Hemmings, lead man. He's a catch! Good luck! Ps how does that lip ring feel when he kisses you?

Me: amazing. God, he's so hot. What am I gonna do when the summer's over. Idk how to say goodbye.

  "Then don't. " I heard Luke say from over my shoulder. Shit he read our messages.
  "Luke, we both know this'll only last for the summer. You have a career touring the world, and I have to start looking at colleges. Let's just enjoy the summer while we have it, okay?" I said turning to face him. I placed my hand over his cheek as he attempted to smile.
   "I'll let you think that, but I'll never let you go. " he said actually smiling. I could feel his dimple from under my hand, making me smile.
   "Whatever. Hemmings, you're such a hopeless romantic. " I said laughing slightly causing him to laugh.
   "And you, are just flat out adorable. Please, can we make this more then just friends with benefits. You said it yourself, we only have the summer, so at the end of the day it won't matter if we were a couple or not. " he pleaded.
   "Okay, I'll be your girlfriend. Sheesh, I didn't know you were that desperate. Just keep it on the DL I don't want people to know yet. Who knows what the girls'll say; it'd be an endless night of being called stuff like a slut, or a whore. I just don't want people to think you're just my rebound. " I said trying to smile.
   "I can't do that, I'm proud to call you my girlfriend, and if they call you those names then they aren't worth listening to. Hm, I like the way that sounds, girlfriend. That sounds amazing to me." He said inching his face closer to mine.
   "I like you. Honestly, you are not my rebound. " I said right before he kissed me.
  "I know I'm not. And I like you too, a lot more then you think. " he said before connecting our lips once again.

    Today is July, 16. Luke's birthday. Luke and I are definitely more serious then we were at the start of camp, when he asked me to be his girlfriend.

   I started my day off by giving Luke his gift. I got him a few band tees a beanie, and snap back. But what shocked me was the fact he was the most excited over the card. It was a hamburger card that did some weird shit. He was so happy he made a video with it. I don't even know anymore. I'm just worried for tonight. I think I know what he wants but I don't think I want it too. After Calum, I've been really uptight and nervous about everything.

   Right now we're just having a pool day. All of the girls except me and Lauren were inside with Ashton. So basically it was just me, Luke, Michael, and Lauren outside.

"How's your 18th been so far?" I said swimming over to Luke's side.
  "Amazing. And it'll only get better from here. " he said smiling, before he kissed me.
