Thank you for 200k+ reads on CALM IN HIS STORM.❤️
Note: I didn't change the story. I just excluded some parts, some drama and angst, but I just skipped them. They don't affect the core of the story anyway. So, these scenes were supposed to come after some drama, but I excluded them and didn't change the story at all. You can rest assured.

"Well... if it isn't the two timer... or should I say three?" Kai's eyes gleamed with something cruel. "Kim Taehyung..." He pointed where Taehyung was sitting and continued, "The man who played both me and Jungkook while already married. Charming, wasn't he? Always so soft-spoken, cheerful, so gentle... turns out, he just loved the attention."
Taehyung got up from his seat, his heart pounding wildly. "Stop it!!" He shouted, rushing towards the stage. "You lying—" He reached for the mic, but Kai grabbed his wrist in a tight grip, yanking him close. "Oh, now you want to talk? Where was this honesty when you were stringing us along?"
"Let go..." Taehyung struggled in his hold, but Kai only held him tighter. "You had us both wrapped around your finger. You knew exactly what you were doing. You loved being wanted. Admit it."
Taehyung looked back at the screen where the photos were still playing, each one pushing the dagger further into his chest, before he frantically looked at the crowd for Jungkook, only to see him walking swiftly towards the exit.
"Jungkook!!" He cried out, his voice shaking uncontrollably, but Jungkook reached the door, pushed it open, and disappeared. "No—please!" He tried to run, but Kai's grip tightened painfully. He clenched his jaw, fury and heartbreak colliding, and he shoved Kai with all the strength he had, sending him stumbling back and running in the direction Jungkook had left.
He ignored the stares, the whispers, the accusations... he didn't care about any of them. He knew the truth, and as long as Jungkook knows it too, then he is fine with anything. And for that, he had to reach Jungkook before the damage became permanent. Because if he didn't, he might lose the only person who ever made him feel like he was worth loving.
He pushed the door open and stepped into the corridor, only to find it empty. He broke into a run, down the hallway and out of the building, scanning every direction, but Jungkook was nowhere. He was gone.
Panic surged through him, but he didn't waste time hailing a taxi, his voice shaking as he gave Jungkook's address. He reached the house, and the maids opened the door, greeting him warmly as they always did.
"Is Jungkook home?" He asked in a small voice.
"No. Young master left for the university this morning. He didn't return."
Taehyung held his head in defeat, trying to steady the tears threatening to spill, but he remembered that Jungkook said he'd meet him at the café at eight. He took a deep breath before exhaling shakily. He wiped his face and nodded to the maids, mustering a polite smile before he left. A few more hours, and he would tell Jungkook everything.
.
Jungkook stepped into the house, looking exhausted and so out of place. The maid greeted him before informing him that Taehyung came by earlier.
"Hyung was here?" He muttered under his breath with a frown on his face before he made his way to his room, his shoulders slumped. The moment the door shut behind him, he collapsed on the bed, covering his eyes with the crook of his elbow. He hoped the darkness would help, but it didn't. The moment he closed his eyes, the images flashed mercilessly. The wedding photos, Taehyung's smile, the kiss, Taehyung looking happy, them exchanging vows and rings... they haunted him.
