"Have a good day at school, buddy." I tied up Nasir's shoes, making sure he was tidy.
Today is his first day of school. Kind of sad that Jeremiah isn't here to witness it, but he's a bitch beater.
We must stay protected.
"I will, mama." He hugged me tightly.
I smiled.
"I love you. Let's walk to the bus." I held his hand.
He pranced outside with me.
The bus driver waved at us.
"Good morning!" The polite man greeted.
"Good-morning. Have a nice day at school, Nasir!" I waved as Nasir got onto the bus.
"I will, mommy!" He yelled out of the window.
"Bye now." The bus driver tilted his hat.
"Bye." I waved.
I went back inside of the house.
"Ay, niece, you'll do me a favor?" Aunt Dez walked into the front room.
"Yeah?" I turned her way.
"Go to the store, get some steak, asparagus, potatoes, butter, garlic, and a case of water. Grab my EBT card out of my jeans on the couch." She listed.
"Can I get a snack?" I asked.
"And you got the nerves to say some "I'm grown, I ain't no little girl." Gon head, I don't care." She laughed at me.
"Yay! Rich Studcle." I cheered.
She wheezed.
"You're annoying, bro." She snickered at my play-on "Stud Uncle" nickname.
"I'm out. I'll be back when I get my snacks and shit.. and of course your steak and shit." I grabbed my jacket.
"Don't forget my steak and shit." She repeated in my tone.
"Studcle, you know me." I joked.
"Chile, get on out of my face." She shook her head, hiding her amusement.
"I know you just wanted me out of the house, so yall could be nasty freaks, Uncle Strap."
"Clock it!" Aunt Keisha yelled.
"Be gone for an hour and a half, alright?" Aunt Dez voiced.
"Studcle, that's gon hurt yall bones. Y'all too old for an hour and a half. I'll be back in five minutes." I joked.
"Girl, I ain't one of these lil niggas who ain't never touched a woman before. Make it two hours. And ain't nobody old, you stay tryna beef with me." She said playfully.
"Studcle—"
"Lil girl you finna piss me off." She giggled.
