"Now lay your head down on the pillow"

Lyriq POV
"I'm scared to look." I covered my eyes.
Aunt Dez sighed.
"Niece, you just need to make sure—it's okay, you don't have to be afraid." She comforted me.
I slowly lowered my hands.
I looked at the pregnancy test, it was positive.
My lip quivered.
"It's okay, babygirl." Aunt Dez held me as I cried.
"No, it's not. I got a racist's baby in me." I sobbed.
"I know, but, good thing is—it's your choice. What do you wish to do?" She asked.
I shrugged.
"I-I don't know. I'm scared." I told her.
"You want time to think on it?" She asked, I nodded.
"Alright, that's fine. Whichever you decide—just know, it's the right choice." She told me.
"Okay." I mumbled.
"I gotta go feed this baby, I'm starving." She stretched.
"I can't believe we all three some pregnant bitches right now." I shook my head.
"Four. Girl, you mama and daddy been getting busy." She chuckled.
"What? Why the fuck would she get pregnant at fifty?" I scrunched my face up.
"You know damn well your mama not fifty—
"Still, auntie.. that's when you supposed to be chilling. Tryna retire. Why would they have another kid?" I rolled my eyes.
"You just mad cause you're not the baby anymore." Aunt Dez smirked.
"No, I'm not. I already got three younger siblings—well, four now." I sighed.
"You're the world's best older sister. Remember?" Aunt Dez teased me.
"Lyndeja leave me alone." I warned her.
She laughed.
"I love you, niece. Call me if you need anything." She said, before leaving out of my apartment.
I cleaned up a bit, throwing away empty pizza boxes; before my doorbell rang.
It's probably Nasir.
"Here I come!" I yelled.
I swung open the door. It was Nasir.
I knew it.
"Did you forget your key, baby man?" I asked him.
"She told me to ring the doorbell." Nasir replied.
"Who?" I asked.
"Me." Ms. Petit shoved her way into my apartment.
"Nasir, go to your room." I ordered.
He followed directions with no questions asked.
"What the hell do you want, Steph?" I asked her.
"You killed my husband." She spat.
"I didn't kill nobody. He got himself killed. Acting all crazy and shit." I scoffed.
"No, he would still be here if it weren't for you!" She yelled.
"Don't raise your voice in my house." I warned her.
"Or what?" She challenged.
"Or a twelve gauge is gonna send you to him." I told her, pointing my shotgun at her.
Billie convinced me to get a gun. She said it's important Black women own firearms, to protect themselves.
"You think police is gonna take your side over mine?" She scoffed.
"They took my side against your husband. That lawsuit is looking real good right now." I sassed.
She rolled her eyes.
"Well, my daughter has no father thanks to you. You're a monster, how do you sleep with yourself?" She played the victim.
"Her father was a sick fuck. He's the monster. Y'all was doing all of that freaky shit, knowing you were married with a child. And, by the way, I sleep very good with myself. Your husband would know that." I retorted.
She looked angry.
"You're a sick fucking bitch. I told him not mess with you...blacks anyway." She spat.
"Y'all must've had jungle fever, huh?" I smirked.
"Whore." She cursed before leaving out.
"Can't wait for my kid to meet your kid. I'm sure she'll be an amazing big sister!" I yelled out of the window.
"What?" Stephanie turned around
"Your husband knocked me up." I told her.
She rolled her eyes.
"A white child doesn't need to grow up around your kind." She spat.
"Because your kind wants to touch them, usual suspect?" I sassed.
"Atleast we don't shoot people—
"You fuck animals, bitch." I deadpanned.
Acting like beastiality rates aren't off the charts for white people.
"I'll take you to court. White blood sticks together!" She yelled.
"Girl, shut up. All that damn acne on your face. Aren't white blood cells supposed to reduce inflammation?"
"Fuck you!" She yelled.
"Mm-hm." I rolled my eyes, shutting my window.
"Who was that, mommy?" Nasir asked.
"She's tryna win the biggest bird competition." I replied.
Dumb, bird ass bitch.
"Oh okay." He nodded.
"Go wash up, I'm about to make dinner." I told him.
"Okay, mommy." He nodded, running off.
