"She pretty but ghetto, pretty but rough just like Virginia Beach"

Lyriq POV
"Come on, Nasir." I woke my son up.

We were now in Los Angeles, California.

My aunt (on my father's side... my granddad is a whore) offered Nasir and I a place to stay.

"Mommy, we home?" He asked, rubbing crust out of his eyes.

"We're at a home." I replied.

He nodded, then unbuckled his seatbelt.

"Carry me?" He asked.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Nasir, you're five-years-old." I stated.

"I'm still a baby, mommy." He replied.

I gave in, scooping the young boy in my arms.

"Wait, don't drop my cover. It's cold." He scrunched up under the blanket.

"Here, boy." I tucked his small toes inside of the blanket.

"Look, if you ever need Jeremiah handled—let me know. I got some niggas who'll...rough him up. Understand me?" Aunt Dez pulled me to the side.

Aunt Dez isn't my father's sister, she's the girlfriend of my father's sister.

"Yeah, you know we'll tear that nigga up." Aunt Keisha walked over.

There's my father's sister.

"That's what I'm saying. Fuck wrong with his yellow ass?" Aunt Dez got mad all over again.

"Look, I'm out of the situation. I don't wanna talk about him no more. Fuck Jeremiah."

"Alright."

Aunt Dez & Keisha left me alone. I stood in the doorway, watching Nasir as he bathed.

He has a thing for wanting to be fucking Aqua Lad in the tub, drowning almost every single time—so I have to watch him.

This nigga is Nigga Lad.

Wait—Aqua Lad is already black, wasn't he?

I don't remember. I need to watch Young Justice again. That was my shit.

"You don't wanna listen, I'm gonna make you listen. I'm the man of the house, don't talk back to me, woman." Nasir said in a deep voice.

My eyebrows raised.

"Hey, Nasir, don't repeat that. Okay?" I spoke up.

He turned around.

"Okay, mommy." He replied.

I'm glad I got him out of Jeremiah and I's bullshit. He shouldn't be reciting lines the nigga said before body slamming me.
