Anyone who is an actor, or a performer in general, knows, the period of time between when you audition for a role, and when you actually get that role, is the most nerve racking time of the audition season. I'm currently in that nerve racking state. 1 1/2 weeks ago, I auditioned for the role of 'Katherine' in the National Tour of Newsies. The casting directors informed me that it would be about 2 weeks until I knew whether I got the job or not.
I have been singing, dancing, and acting since a very young age. I was involved in community theatre for many years, before making my Broadway debut as Matilda in, 'Matilda: The Musical'."Don't worry about it, Andie! You're fantastic and those directors would be insane not to hire you." My twin brother, Evan assures me.
"I know, but that won't kill my nerves. You know how nervous I get about auditions."
"You're going to get the job. I know it." Evan told me.
Evan and I are kind of... different twins. Evan was born on our due date, while I was born one week after, due to a heart defect that would have killed me if I had been born. The doctors performed an in utero surgery on my heart, so that my birth wouldn't kill me. I had to stay in the hospital for 2 months after I was born, getting surgery after surgery to repair my heart. 17 years later, and I am healthy, for now, with a wonderful, loving family, a great talent, and very good luck.
