"What?!" Ben exclaimed, "We've all known you for almost two months, how has this never come up?!"
"I don't know!" I defended myself, "I'm just not one of those people who throws their relationship in other people's faces!"
"Okay, I get that, but none of us had any clue you had a boyfriend!" He tried to explain, "And now I just confessed my feelings to a girl who is already dating someone!"
Okay, let's take it back. I don't have a boyfriend. I had a boyfriend about six months ago, and we were dating for almost three years. I loved him. He didn't love me. I was just a toy to him, he cheated on me for almost the whole relationship. Now, you might be wondering, "Andrea, why did you tell Ben that you have a boyfriend when you don't?"
Well, it's quite simple, actually.
I like him, but it probably won't work out, so then I will just have my heart broken again. I can't handle that."Well I'm sorry that you couldn't control your feelings!" I exclaim. Why are we even fighting about this? It's not like we're dating and he just found out about this secret boyfriend of mine.
Ben stood up and walked back into the restaurant. I walk back in there a few minutes later, to see Ben sitting in a chair near the back, the whole cast out on the dance floor.
I walked over to him. I don't like drama. I don't like awkward tension. I don't like situations like this. So, I have to set things straight so that things aren't weird anymore."Things can't be weird, Ben." I said, sitting down in a chair next to his.
"What?"
"I won't be able to handle things if they're weird. I don't want drama going on with my cast-mate. I don't want this to be a big deal, so can we just forget about this? Because I don't want the crazy awkwardness that I know will happen if we don't talk about this." I confessed.
"I'm sorry, Andrea. What I did was way out of line, I mean, it just came out of nowhere and I should've warned you. Or at least found out that you have a boyfriend." He lightly chuckled at the end. "God, I'm so stupid!" Ben face palmed, "I can't believe I asked out a girl who has a boyfriend!"
"Hey, you're not stupid, I just never told anybody about my boyfriend. I didn't even think that anyone would find out, honestly." Because he doesn't exist. I think to myself.
"Why didn't you want people to know about him?" He asked.
"Well, you see," think, think, think, think, think, "Our relationship is... complicated."
"How so?" Damn, this boy asks a lot of questions.
"Um, well, we're so different, and our personalities don't really match that well. The reason I don't introduce him to friends is because, honestly, he wouldn't like you guys. No offense, I mean, I love you guys, but you're not really his cup of tea." I lied.
"So you didn't tell us about him because you thought he wasn't gonna like us?" He asked, confused.
"It sounds stupid when you say it, but yeah." I laugh, he laughs too.
"Well, we're cool. No awkwardness will be happening anytime soon, okay?"
"Aye, Aye, Captain." I saluted him.
"You're stupid, Andie," Ben stood up, pulling me up with him, "let's go dance." he pulled me out onto the dance floor where we joined our cast and danced the night away.
