Y/n POV

I sat in the radio shack listening to Robin talk - I smiled knowing who she was talking too about her upcoming date. I promised to keep the secret, but I wanted to tell everyone so bad!

She started a song, dedicated to her date and I nodded my head as I read a magazine and snacked. I only came along because Robin asked me too. We had become closer over the last year, especially with the current events happening in Hawkins. I also got to stare at Steve while I was here, so I can't be mad. I watched as he worked the background mic, he was so handsome when he was focused.

Suddenly the radio started to go wonky, static and loud pops were coming from the speaker next to me and I watched as Robin and Steve frantically ran to the servers. She twisted and pulled knobs yelling at Steve to radio Dustin.

"Henderson, do you copy?" I sat in my chair, watching comfortably as the chaos unfolded in front of me. My legs propped up in front of me as I snacked on some chips.

"Henderson, do you copy?"

"Yea I copy. What's the problem?"

"We're having an issue here at the squak" I heard a groan from the other end of the walkie. I huffed a laugh at the Dustins sas.

"Steve I can't fix every problem for you." Steve rolled his eyes.

"Dustin come on man, it's all static and the servers are doing something weird."

"It's probably the remote radio head." Steve looked at me in question and I shrugged my shoulders, throwing a handful of chips into my mouth.

"Remote what?"

"Steve just read the manual, I have to go."

"Henderson, it's in Greek or something."

"Then learn Greek." Radio silent. I laughed at Dustin's response causing Steve to glare at me.

"Come on, that's kinda funny." He sighed and walked away. I got up from my chair and followed him around the office, looking in all the cabinets and drawers.

"What does the manual look like?" I asked.

"Probably like a manual." Steve said sarcastically to me.

"Clever." I walked away and searched through other drawers, Nancy and Jonathan helped us search as well.

"Found it!" I heard from behind me. Nancy held up the large binder and smiled. Her and Steve looked at eachother in a way I didn't like that much. They used to be a thing, and Steve swears he doesn't care about her that way anymore yet I have a hard time believing him.

They went through the binder, Nancy flipping past pages before Steve stopped suddenly.

"Hey! The remote radio head. Dustin was saying something about it." Their hands met for a second and they paused. A little longer than they needed too.

After reading the gibberish in the manual we walked outside and looked up at the tower. It was tall. Looked rickety.

"Looks like somebody's gotta climb up there.." Robin said from beside me.

"Aka a good job for good ole Steve Harrington." I watched as he walked away and rolled up his sleeves.

"No 3rd person please." Robin said as she grimaced at his sentence. I giggled and walked behind Steve. I bet I could climb this faster than him.

"You know Steve, I actually can do it." Jonathan said from behind me.

"No Beyers, you stay here." Watching them bicker over who can impress Nancy more irritated me. Not because I didn't like Nancy, but because I liked Steve and he could care less.
