*** SPICY SPICY! Be warned ;) ***

Y.n POV

I walked down the isle way, checking to make sure all the dogs had enough water and had cozy beds before I locked down for the night. I smiled at the husky in the pen to my right.

"Delilah, you need a cozy bed." Grabbing the biggest bed I could find I opened her gate and laid it down for her, which she happily got cozy on and gave me a few kisses as a thank you. I smiled, giving her a few pets before closing her door and walking away.

I walked outside, checking the outside portion of the kennel for any toys or blankets that needed to be brought it. Since the dogs have their own inside and outside run, they love to drag bedding outside.

I heard a clatter, my head shot to the fence where the noise came from. I slowly walked over, holding my breath and carefully setting my feet down with each step as to not make too much sound. I saw a jacket fly over the fence.

A very familiar jacket...

2 hands came from behind and covered my eyes. I gasped as I heard my favorite laugh.

"Babe!" I turned around, hitting his arm as he laughed.

"Happiest birthday my love." He brought a singular flower from behind his back and bowed in front of me. I giggled grabbing it from him and giving him a peck on the lips.

"What are you even doing here? I'm off in like 15 minutes."

"I couldn't possibly wait another 15 minutes. And I thought maybe you could use some help!" I thought for a second. The help would be nice.

"How about you walk in the other side of the kennel, check the outside runs for any blankets or toys, grab any you see and meet me back in the building?" I smiled cheekily at him.

"Yes ma'am." He saluted me and walked off. I shook my head and let out a light laugh. He's too much sometimes.

After checking my side I walked back in, and he frantically ran inside and closed the door behind him. He looked panicked.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I rushed over to him.

"Hide. We need to hide." I furrowed my brows, not understanding what he meant.

"Hide? Why?" He grabbed my wrist and opened the back kennel door. He was checking all the latches till he found one that was unlocked, it didn't help that it was pitch black. He opened it and shoved me in first, following in tow he closed the gate and latches it from the inside.

"Ste-" he covered my mouth harshly. I wanted to fight back but I could feel the muscles in his hand trembling. He definitely was not kidding about whatever is bothering him.

I watched, my eyes adjusting to the dark as a large humanoid creature walked past. It had some sort of folded face and a tail that swayed behind it. My eyes widened as I watched it stalk past us. My breathing rapid under Steve's hand.

When its tail was no longer in sight Steve slowly removed his hand from my mouth and silently unlatched the gate. I quickly shook my head at him, I am not leaving this kennel.

"Babe go, Robin is waiting outside she can get us far away." I searched his eyes, what I could see at least and paused for a moment. I nodded silently.

I slipped past the kennel door and slowly walked forward, my shoe creaked. I paused. The creature growled. Fuck.

"Y/n RUN!!" I ran as fast as I could to the door that separated us from the center room. Steve ran behind me as well, but we weren't fast enough. The creature ripped Steve's pants, cutting his leg in the process and I heard his shriek as we ran. He ran faster than me, grabbing the fire extinguisher on the wall he swung at the creature and hit it so hard it fell immediately.
