Y/N P.O.V

I walked up to Steve with a smile and he looked down at me.

"Yes Y/n?" I rolled my eyes at him.

"That's all you have to say to me? Not 'hello the most beautiful and breathtaking human I've ever seen'? Or maybe 'hello my favorite person, how are you today?'" He laughed aloud at my suggestions and tussled my hair a bit. I swatted him off and smoothed out the frizz he created.

Steve and I had been getting closer the last few months, and I can't lie, the crush forming was intense. If course he doesn't know of said crush, and he never will because I'm a weenie and too scared of rejection.

"Although those were great, I like my original answer." He flashed a smile at me as we stopped at his car. I huffed.

"Anyway.. I was hoping we could hangout. Tonight." He side eyed me, and shook his head.

"Sorry. I got plans tonight, but maybe another time?" I cocked my head at him.

"Plans? Like, your plans with the toddlers you hangout with?" His head darted my direction and he scoffed at me.

"They aren't toddlers, idiot, and yes I am hanging out with them tonight." I raised my eyebrows.

"Well, can I join then?" He shook his head.

"No can do friend, it's some serious stuff that you cannot know about."

"Steve, they aren't even old enough to do anything, even partially serious." He pondered what I said for a minute.

"You wouldn't understand, plus, it's not girl stuff."

"Isn't there, like, 2 girls that are in the group?" His lips formed a straight line.

"Not, your type of girl stuff." I furrowed my brows.

"And, what type of girl stuff am I, exactly?" He smiled.

"Just different stuff, Y/n, you can't hangout with us. I'm sorry." As I  walked away I took a glimpse  over my shoulder to see him waving at me. I rolled my eyes and walked back into the mall. I will hangout with them, whether they want me too or not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sat in a booth, at chips ahoy watching Steve chit chat with the little twerps that I despised so much. Why did they get all his attention suddenly? Why am I not allowed to hangout and and go do things with them? There's too many questions and I can't let myself over think the answers, because I will cry.

"Whatcha doin?" I jumped out of shock as Steve's coworker Robin (?), I think that's her name, sat next to me.

"I- Uhh- nothing creepy." She furrowed her brows at me.

"Creepy definitely wasn't my first thought, but ok." She let out a light laugh and I smiled at her sheepishly.

"I am spying on Steve and those kids, if I'm being honest with you." She nodded.

"May I ask why..?" I pursed my lips to the side and sat for a moment.

"They seem to take all his time from me and, I'm jealous. He also said that I'm not allowed to hangout with them because they are dealing with 'very serious things'." I said in air quotes. She hummed and nodded at me.
