Y/n POV

I sat in class, the teacher was going on about something, but I couldn't focus. I couldn't focus on anything other than the fact that I hurt Steve. I was so ashamed of myself I could feel it affecting every part of my life, my grades, my home life, self care.

He won't talk to me. Every time he sees me in the hallway he turns the other way. I sent him flowers, and I watched him throw them away. I called his house phone, and his dad told me he didn't want to speak to me.

So, I only had one more option. I had to follow Dustin to see him. Make him to listen to me. I watched the clock on the wall tick by, last period was always the longest and most miserable class of the day. Good thing it was study hall, half the class slept anyway and the teacher could care less.

The bell rang and I sprang from my seat, grabbing my back pack and walking out the door I ran down the hall and outside, grabbing my bike I peddled hard to beat Dustin home.

Wondering where the car is? I didn't take it. I didn't want it anymore.

I anxiously waited for Dustin to get home, and when the door opened I waited until he got upstairs to his room where I grabbed him, pulled him into my room and shut the door.

"What the hell??" He yelled.

"You are taking me on your mission tonight, and you cannot say no to me."

"Umm, no. You're not allowed." I rolled my eyes.

"Dustin, I mean it. I am going whether you want me too or not."

"Y/n. Trust me, you do not want to go."

"Yes. I. Do."

"It's dangerous, and you won't be safe." What the hell does that even mean?

"Excuse me?" He looked around us, checking my room for something and then we motioned for me to come closer. He cupped his hands around his mouth and brought his lips to me ear.

"There's a demo-dog on the loose and we're trying to kill it." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"What?" He sighed heavily.

"A Demogorgon?" He 'clarified'

"A demo what?"

"You are hopeless." I threw my hands into the air.

"Because I don't know what fictional creature you're talking about makes me hopeless? Sorry I don't play make believe every day."

"No, you're hopeless because you don't believe me." My face fell flat.

"Dustin come on, let me go."

"Ughh, fine! But we're not leaving till later. I will come get you when we're going." I smiled in triumph.

"Thank you!" I kissed his cheek only to watch him vigorously wipe it off and walk out of my room.

---------------- 4 hours later -----------------

I waited impatiently in my room, it was already dark out and I had only woken up maybe half hour ago from my nap. I waited for Dustin to come get me like he said he would, when I heard a suspicious noise. I looked out my window and watched as he rode his bike away quickly. Dammit!

I ran out the house, grabbing my bike and peddling quickly to try and keep up with him. He was going in the direction of the woods, I followed as close as I was able. I ditched my bike next to his, looking to my left I saw Steve's car. Bingo. I walked through the woods, listening for any talking or laughing but it was utterly silent.
