Chapter Nine

" Hello? " Maddie said questioning the man at the end of the line.

" Maddie how was your flight! " Instantly she recognise her fathers calm voice.

" It was good thank you " came the relived reply.

" The school? How is it? "

Oh shit

" Great, it's lovely " She lied.

" Brilliant, well I have to go, Josh sends his love, we all do"

" love you and I miss you and Josh"

" I love you to mads "

And with that he hung up.

" I love you dad " I sigh came to Maddies face.

She sat down on the comfy bed and put her head in her hands.

" Missing him? " Came the voice from the door. Maddie looked up to see Joe leaning against the door.

Her eyes were red, but as she didn't want Joe to notice, she got up and faced the wall.

" I never expected it to be this much " She said.

" It will get better " he said

" I hope so "

" Ugh well Marcus told me to come for supper " He said

" Okay " She followed him down the stairs and faced the floor.

As she brushed the tears from her hands. Her heart started racing, faster and faster by the second. She felt dizzy as she grab the first thing she could see.

That thing was Joes arm. He turned around to see a panting Maddie.

Joe PoV

" Maddie? Maddie?! " Joe said

" Breathe in and out, do it with me in and out. In... Out "

She did it with him and as she came back to her senses. She let out some final tears.

As Joe saw the few tears fall from her eyes, he instantly reacted. He held her close and wiped the tears from her eyes.

" It's okay, look a rainbow. " Joe calmly said.

A smile came to maddies face as they watched the rainbow.
She hugged him close as he whispered.

" You can't have a rainbow without a little rain. "

She smiled and wiped the final tears from her eyes.

" Supper? " he said

" Supper. " she smiled.
