Despite being a little Disney child.
I never quite liked the story of Bambi.
The pure dislike was simple, I thought.
It is now I realise that it was much greater.Dining alone on the lounge, lost in nothing.
Eating cheap beef noodles in a small bowl.
Watching beloved Bambi live his dear life away.
But I was interrupted unexpectedly by poor fate.Parents sitting together sombrely near my left side.
Begging for a chat that should've lasted much longer.
Daddy's eyes said it all and yet it never comprehended.
Just a little girl, minding her own damn small business.She didn't ask for this nor did she quite understand it all.
Simply nodding in acknowledgement of their statement.
Continuing her meal as if nothing drastic just happened.
Never knowing the full extent of her destroyed future.Childhood was ruined the night I watched Bambi.
Although I was aware of him many times before that.
It would be the last time I ever laid my eyes on him.
A farewell that was needed, never to be reopened.Because only I know what happened on that dreadful but calm night.
And quite frankly, it's the least poetic thing to ever happen in my life.So as a wise Kurt Cobain once said.
'That legendary divorce is such a bore'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So if you are empty headed, this is basically the story of when my parents told me they were getting divorced. And yes, I really don't like Bambi. Not only did it scare the shit out of me as a child with the mother getting shot and the creepy deer confronting Bambi, it could possibly be the divorce that ruined it.I haven't watched the movie since that night and I'm not afraid of it. Watching it would just make me feel like shit so never confront me with that. But yeah, just wanted to write this boring story down at 2am so I never have to explain to anyone considering it's burned into my soul for all eternity and never to be forgotten.
This isn't meant to be a sob story though. I mean, I love so many other Disney films. I don't resent Bambi, we've just never been on good terms.
Sincerely Yours,
Liliana.
