A huge frown was pasted on Jiyoo's lips as she, with hasty steps, headed for her homeroom. Yongguk and she had fought that morning. The topic of money had come up and the conversation had led to them shouting at each other. Her boyfriend had dropped out of high school in his senior year to focus on his music career. Two years had passed by since then and the older male had yet to receive a contract. It was a topic that sparked many conversations between the two of them. Jiyoo was proud over her boyfriend, but, the boy needed to get a real job. The money he got through various underground competitions weren't enough to pay the bills.

Plus, she already had a part-time job at the supermarket located near their apartment. The money she earned combined with Yongguk's were just so that they managed to pay the rent. Though, all their fights would always end the same way, in a fiery round of make-up sex. Not the she minded. Still, the older male needed a job, a real one. And that before they got thrown out on the streets.

The hallways were already empty as the first classes of the day had begun. The girl weren't exactly known to be a student who arrived in time. The teachers could at least be glad that she handed in the homework's in time. Jiyoo's homeroom teacher didn't even acknowledge her once she entered the room. The older woman was, after over two years, used to the girl's rude behaviour. Jiyoo was known by everyone at school as a rebellious student. The girl didn't follow the rules and the only thing that kept the school board from expelling Jiyoo was her outstanding grades.

But it hadn't always been like that. Her middle-school period had been filled to the brim with everything from skipping school to fights with other students. The only reason to why she even attended such a prestigious school as Jawoon was because of her father. He'd paid an enormous sum of money to the school so that they would let her enter.

Jiyoo's father thought that with money you could buy everything and everyone. Unfortunately did it not hinder her mother from committing suicide when she found out that her husband was cheating on her with another woman. The girl didn't exactly have an ideal relationship with her father. The two of them seemed to always end up fighting when they tried to talk. Mainly because of the fact that the woman her father had cheated with moved in with them after the death of Jiyoo's mother. And it hadn't gotten any better when that woman got pregnant. So, during her second year of high school she moved in with Yongguk. The small apartment was barely enough for the two. Then again, it was better than nothing. At least she wouldn't need to meet her father and that woman each and every day.

"Moon Jiyoo, can't you at least pay attention." she raised her head and stared right at the old woman. The girl only shrugged her shoulders before placing her head back down on the desk. Jiyoo weren't in the mood to focus on the Chinese flowing out of the teacher. Despite that Chinese was her worst subject she couldn't pay any attention to it at that moment. There were simply too many things going on in her head. The money problem wouldn't just disappear on its own.

Yongguk had to do something as the last thing she wanted was to go to her father and ask for money. Jiyoo wanted to live independently and without any financial help. "Moon Jiyoo, do I need to send you to the principals office again?" the gray-haired woman scowled, not pleased by how her student was acting.

Despite having received a warning Jiyoo couldn't care less. Teachers and students alike had already tried getting her expelled, but all in vain. The girl would never cause ruckus during school. After was another deal though. Not that she believed that it would've made any difference. Jiyoo's father donated so much money that the school board could probably make any matter disappear. She'd heard rumours about students getting into fights inside the bathrooms, though, that was also about it. No one ever spoke about it again, it was like it'd never taken place. Then there was also those rumours that seemed too unlikely.
