She could see the police cars when she rushed up the small hill towards the house. The only thing on her mind was Ahri and she couldn't care less whether something was destroyed or taken. "Miss you can't go in." an officer stopped her just outside, "my sister is in there." she tried to push herself past but the man grabbed the girl's arms, "you'll have to wait until we've searched through the house and secured evidence." So someone had actually broken into their home after all. Jiyoo's shoulders deflated and she stared up on the building in front. "Find my sister." The girl was growing hysterical, she was terrified that those fuckers might've found Ahri and done something horrible. "Miss calm down, we're doing everything we can to located your sister." Well, it was quite obvious that they weren't doing enough.
The wait was nerve breaking. Jiyoo's gaze was on the front door all the time. She was waiting and waiting, it seemed like she would have to stand there the whole night through. Half an hour, that's how long it took for them to find Ahri and then another two hours before they could step inside the enormous mansion.
Her father's office had, after she'd looked through the house, been the only room the robbers had paid attention to. It was just another piece to the puzzle that Jiyoo was trying to put together. Whoever had entered seemed to know exactly what they wanted and it worried her. What if they came back again? It was possible.
"Unnie, I'm scared and I don't want to be here anymore." The girl bent down and enveloped Ahri in a tight hug. "I know, just give me a few minutes and we'll go, okay?" Jiyoo was undoubtedly curious to what her father's office contained, what could possibly be so important?Their father was just any other business owner; there were thousands of them in Korea, so, what made him so special?"Okay." Jiyoo followed with her younger sister to the kitchen, "Here, eat this in the meantime." Ice cream, not the healthiest thing to eat, but that would have to do. "Unnie don't leave me." Ahri was soon by her side again. "I'm not going to leave you."
Her father's office was a total chaos. Paper, documents, pictures, furniture's, everything had been thrown all across the room. Jiyoo couldn't remember that she'd ever stepped inside that room before, mainly because her father had always told the girl to stay out of there. His office had never interested Jiyoo, not until now.
The robbery couldn't possibly have anything to do with the resent activities around her. No one had any connections to neither her father nor his company. Daehyun, Zelo, Tao and Yongguk, all of them were just students, with an exception of the last boy. However, she had this feeling that everything wasn't completely right. Though, they were all just incidents, and without proof would they stay as such.
All the documents didn't mean much to her. She couldn't understand them that's why. The math was far above her skills and Jiyoo wouldn't be able to figure them out. For her, it was like reading a foreign language. Instead did she move over to the pictures scattered on the floor. Some of them were really old, probably older than Jiyoo herself. A lump grew in her throat when she ran the tip of her index finger along a picture of her smiling mother. The longing that Jiyoo felt was still so strong and that despite that several years had passed by. To think about her mother was still unbelievably hard.
During the nights, when she was about to sleep, would the same exact memory replay itself over and over again, the conversation when she got to know about the death of her mother. Jiyoo would still feel guilty about some things that she wished she'd done and said. Though, no twelve-year old believed that their mother would suddenly just pass away. For one to die so young wasn't normal.
To forgive her father was impossible.
Moving on she collected all the pictures into the palm of her hand. To stay there any longer would be rather stupid, especially since the robbers could come back. For all Jiyoo knew they could've forgotten something. In a hurry did she run around the house, packing down clothes for both herself and Ahri, getting ID cards, credit cards and passports and then lastly, stuffing down documents and pictures from her father's office.
