Detention was hell, but nonetheless a place she had to attend. Much to her surprise did Tao meet her gaze once she entered the room. It was an unusual sight as the Chinese boy seemed to take school seriously. In fact, it was probably the first time he got detention. Jiyoo couldn't remember that she'd ever seen him there before. Well, there's a first time for everything.
"Jiyoo take a seat, the detention is about to begin." the supervising teacher spoke and the girl kept her eyes on Tao whilst heading over to a vacant seat. She couldn't help but to feel slightly curious over what he'd done to deserve some extra time in school, especially since it was Friday and all.
It turned out, once the class had started, that it was only Tao and her that'd gotten detention that day, something that didn't exactly arrive as a surprise. No one wanted to stay in school longer than needed on a Friday. Jiyoo had heard several of the students bragging about the latest nightclubs and what they were going to do, and that even though they weren't even old enough to enter.
"Jiyoo, why is it that you can never learn?Getting into a university will be hard if you continue acting like this." the girl could feel irritation build up within, why was it that everyone bothered her about that? There was more to life than studying. "I'm not attending a university so you don't have to worry." Jiyoo replied in a nonchalant manner. It was rather obvious that the way she'd said it had angered the teacher, especially since he lashed about, "well, no university would want such a lousy student anyway." her heart squeezed together, to hear such words hurt. She might look and act tough, but within was she just as vulnerable as anyone else.
Grabbing her books she stuffed them down in her bag, and that before she, in a violent manner, pushed the table away. The wooden piece of furniture let out a loud squeak as it was shoved forward. She'd had enough of ill mannered teachers who did nothing to help her out. They were great at pointing out Jiyoo's flaws and wrongdoings, but all they ever did to help was to give her detention.
It was obviously something that wasn't working. The girl caused trouble in school every other day and it seemed like everyone had given up on her. On the contrary did she sort of understand them as well, who would want to deal with Jiyoo when she herself did nothing to improve. "You can't leave yet, the detention isn't over." so, it hadn't exactly hindered her from leaving before.
Tao got slightly confused when he watched a furious Jiyoo stomp out of the room. He hadn't understood the whole conversation but the boy knew, nonetheless, that it'd been one to spark anger within the girl. She had looked utterly pissed off when slamming the door shut. Without a thought in the world did he dash after her, he couldn't care less whether the school would report to his parents that he was skipping detention. They would probably be more than angry at him for getting detention in the first place.
"Get back in your seat." Tao ignored the teacher as he followed after the girl. He was actually worried for her, especially after the latest events. Somehow did it feel like Kris played a bigger part in the older girl's life than what he'd expected. "Jiyoo." the name slipped from Tao's lips as he latched onto her arm and spun her around.
The adrenaline was still rushing through her body and Jiyoo snapped at the Chinese boy, "what are you doing, you should be at detention." their gazes met and that all the whilst she was trying to blink away the tears forming in her eyes. Jiyoo despised to show her emotions as she believed that to be a sign of weakness. To cry in public and in front of other was forbidden. It was something she simply couldn't do. "You should be in there, too." his fist clenched together as his eyes fell upon the scar on the older girl's cheek. The person would get a round with his fists if he were to find out about who'd hurt her.
"GET BACK TO THE CLASSROOM." Jiyoo felt how the boy tightened his grip around her arm as the teacher's loud voice boomed throughout the hallway. There was no way in hell that she was going to return to the classroom and detention. Unfortunately was the boy still holding onto her, an ordeal that made it impossible for Jiyoo to get away. "Tao, Jiyoo, return to the classroom now." the damn teacher was closing in and the girl had to get moving before the old man caught her.
"Let go." if he wouldn't do so then she would have no other option but to drag the Chinese bit with her. Jiyoo's playful mood begun, somehow, to show itself. It was a feeling that she'd almost forgotten. "3, 2, 1." Tao's eyebrows drew together as he listened to the countdown, the boy was confused to what she was up to. However, it soon enough changed as he found himself being dragged away, it was something that gave him two choices. Either did he let go and head back to the classroom, just like the teacher wanted, or he followed with Jiyoo. The decision was easy and he let himself being pulled away. For Tao to neglect school was unusual, but to spend time with Jiyoo was even rarer.
The teacher shouted after them as they entered the staircase. "Come on, hurry up." the girl could feel her pulse quicken as they rushed up the stairs, and without even thinking about it did Jiyoo let a smile grow on her lips.
"Shouldn't we head back?" Tao wondered why the girl was acting like that, the way she was neglecting her own education should've sparked some interest from the teachers and her parents. It wasn't exactly the first time he'd seen Jiyoo skip school. "Nope, we're not." the girl was so into her own little world that she didn't even notice when Tao let his hand slid down to grasp hers. The warmth that spread through him caused his heart to jump in excitement, it was a nice feeling.
What none of the them expected was the fact that the old teacher was coming after them, "JIYOO, TAO, GET DOWN HERE." the voice was strained and the man seemed frustrated at the way the two students were behaving. "NO WAY." Jiyoo shouted back just before she let out a laugh, it was an entire new side of Jiyoo that she'd never showed anyone else but Ahri and Yongguk.
The younger boy was actually flabbergasted as they rushed out from the staircase and into the hallway on the fourth floor. The two of them were running along the long corridor before entering another staircase that took them even higher up. The teacher had, by then, given up. He found no reason to chase after students who were obeying him. However, that was something neither Jiyoo or Tao knew. They still believed that he was coming after them and therefore did the girl push the door to the rooftop open. The mild May weather caressed her cheeks and a shiver ran down Jiyoo's spine.
Out of breath she leaned against the fence surrounding the roof. It was only then when she realized that Tao's hand was clutching onto her own, an ordeal that caused the girl's heart to flutter. Jiyoo sucked in her bottom lip, she wondered when he'd let his hand move down to grasp her hand. Unable to say anything she stared out on the scenery. Though, the only thing Jiyoo could think about was how nice his hand felt in hers. It was a feeling she hadn't experienced in so long.
Slightly turning her head to the side she glanced up on him. Tao felt the stares and blinked down at the older girl, "do you always get into this much trouble?" the smile on her face grew wider, "not to this extent, no." Tao's heart leaped when she, unconsciously, squeezed his hand. It was obvious that he, for every day that passed, fell harder and harder for the older girl, and he was going to do everything in order to make Jiyoo his girlfriend.
