"He what?!"

I flinched at masons tone, we were currently seated across from each other at a restaurant. I mentally scolded myself for thinking this was a good place to bring up my recent conversation with Jayden.

"Mason, I know this is a lot to take in but could you please avoid making a scene?" His eyes were hard and cold as ice as he continued to glare at me.

"How am I supposed to react Rachel? This guy who's your ex lover has confessed his love for you, my mate, and I'm supposed to keep calm?!"

I reached my hand across the table to touch his clenched fist, his neck and the tip of his ears were a beaming shade of crimson red as he grew angrier. I can only imagine the scenarios he's playing over in his mind right now.

"His aim wasn't to seduce me Mason, he was simply explaining why he was finding it difficult to accept you and I being an item, I know Jayden wouldn't want anything to ruin my chances of being happy"

Masons fist relaxed ever so slightly, just enough to reassure me that what I was saying was working or at least my touch was comforting him.

"I want you to steer clear of him for a few days, it'll give me some time to digest this and for Jayden to pull himself together"

I starred at him with wide eyes and retracted my hand back, was he serious?

"You don't know Jayden like I do Mason, and we both know that you making that request has nothing to do with Jayden's well being, it's simply your possessive alpha streak getting the better of you"

And we're back to square one, a very angry Mason and a very stubborn Rachel having an intense stare down, there's no way I was caving in this time.

"I think it's about time we got home, it's late" he stood up and brushed his hands on his dress pants, he was sweating. He knew damn well he wasn't winning this fight.

"No I think it's a bit time you go to your home, I'll see you tomorrow Mason"
