'PUT HIM DOWN NOW!'

I used all the alpha tone I had, expecting him to bow his head and release Leo. But he didn't even flinch...Leo didn't look scared or worried, he was just playing with Brodie's hair.

'Brother, don't waste your breath on using alpha tone with me..I'm not affected by you. We're family'

My alpha tone works on every one except family and Rachel. Which sucks at time like this...

'I am NOT your brother!'

'Leo? I told you to stay...'

'But I saw this bug daddy! It was so pretty and he helped me catch it!..sorry daddy'

He did the pouty lips which makes me crumble every time. Making his eyes wider his lips trembling slightly, oh god! Not the puppy eyes...

'Leo...what did mummy tell you about not talking to strangers?'

'Oh daddy Brodie's not a stra-'

'How did you know he was Brodie?'

'He looks like the big man at daycare daddy!'

'You visit my son at daycare?!'

'Yeah daddy! He tells me stuff'

'What stuff?'

'That's for Leo to know and not you little bro'

my eyes glared at his smirking smile...that asshole!

'Come on Leo we better go home and see mummy..'

'You can run little bro but just wait...the time will come. And you won't even expect it'

His voice was deep and rusty. Deeper then mine, and my voice was pretty deep for an 18 yeah old. His hair looked oily and unkept, his eyes not the evil vibrant green I remembered. Like he was really tired, lonely...

'If you dare touch the two most important things to me I will personally snap your neck. And make sure you never see the sun again! You understand me!'

'But I bet I could make her scream...in pain and pleasure huh lil bro? Didn't mum ever teach you to share?'

I felt my wolf taking over me, I still had control but not much. The way he was talking about Rachel didn't make me or my wolf happy.

'Hmm so tempting...I could give Leo a better life, make Rachel happier what do you think bro-'

And I was about to shifted when a soft voice which made my wolf purr in contempt softly spoke behind me.

'Mason? What is going on here!?'

Rachel stormed past me and ripped Leo out of Brodie's grasp...

Ok mama wolf mad....

'DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH MY SON AGAIN!'

I think I saw a flash of pain pass his eyes, his shoulders slump and his head lowered.

Then she turned to me..oh god

'Mason what were you thinking! Leo was right there! He doesn't need to put up with this!'

'I'm sorry...I'm so sorry please....don't be mad'

She placed her hand on the back of my neck pulling me towards her soft lips. Our lips connected and moved in sync.

A little giggle was heard between our chests. I smiled against her lips and pulled back looking at the little boy with a cheeky smile across his face.

'Is that what scrabble is daddy?'

Rachel and I shared a look then burst into laughter. Rachel kissed his noes then his cheek, showering his face with kisses.

'No baby...that's a kiss'

'A kiss....'

His eyes wandered off and he looked like he was staring into space, he crinkled his nose squishing his lips together and puffing out his cheeks, I stared at Rachel's face, her eyes glowing in happiness.

All sign of happiness disappeared at the sound of his voice, how dare he make her sad! My rage was bubbling over the edge, then a small hand started playing with the hair at the back of my neck. I stared into Rachel's eyes.

'Just remember Leo...'

I looked down at the little guy, dead to the world. Small puffs of air leaving his mouth. She's right I need to keep calm.

'Um I hate to ruin the little family reunion but-'

'Brodie you can go...your presence is being wasted'

He glared and moved towards me I pulled Rachel and Leo behind me. Standing protectively. He tried to grab my neck but I pushed him back pinning him to the wall.

'Is there a problem?'

'Watch your back lil brother! I never lose and your not about to win this battle...'

It was hard to understand him while my hand was crushing his wind pipe but I have a pretty accurate idea.

I slammed his back against the wall. Leaning down to whisper in his ear.

'Don't threaten me you lying piece of shit....I will never EVER let you hurt them...so get that into your thick head!'

His eyes were a dark swamp green. His wolf was in control.

I pushed him in the direction of the shop entrance and ran back to Rachel.

Leo's head resting in her neck, I grabbed her small waist and pulled her to my chest laying my head next to hers. The sound of her speeding heart caught my attention then the tiny relaxed one that belonged to Leo.

'Were not safe are we?'

'Everything is going to be fi-'

'Don't try and reassure me mason...I heard the conversation'

'I won't let him hurt you or Leo! I promise you that'

She rested her head above my heart tracing my toned stomach through my thin shirt with her finger. I shivered kissing along her jaw. We were a big sandwich, me then Leo and Rachel.

'Mason I get the feeling this is just the beginning'

I let out a big breath of air and leaned our foreheads together.

'I will do whatever I can to keep you and Leo safe. So don't worry'
