They let you stay in the hospital for two days, and since that passed, Marlowe finally could go home. To be in her own bed. The hospital gave her some heavy-duty medicine on the way home and when it got really bad.

Marlowe really didn't want anyone to be near her. But not far away. She wanted some peace and not have poor Steve ask a nurse every five minutes if someone was going to help Marlowe to walk around. Or having people check up on you constantly.

Granny had a few people over, like her kids and Max. Poor Max, Billy had dropped off Max and didn't brother to check to see if Marlowe was home to take care of her. Only Granny said that she would watch over Max. Max had no idea that Marlowe was having surgery, only leaving for Mexico.

So Max was a little worried for Marlowe but was happy that Marlowe was coming home.

Steve looked like he could just pass out intact he stayed the night with them because Steve didn't feel like he wanted to go home or be at home. So Steve took the basement for a few nights. Granny didn't mind that.

Max helped Marlowe upstairs since she was the only youngest person that's there. "I didn't know that you had surgery. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just don't tell Billy."Marlowe wasn't going to tell Max about the surgery being weight loss. "It's was something in my stomach that needed to be fixed." Not that Max would care it would be a weight loss surgery.

"Oh my. Well, I can do my best to help you with whatever you need." Opening Marlowe's bedroom door.

"Thnk you, Max. That means a lot. I will have a task for you." Marlowe enters her bedroom. "Icepack, ice chips or cubs so i can suck. And i need you to time or at least help me with the time to help me take my medicine please.." Slowly sitting down. "Gosh, that's a tall order. "Just timing my medicine would be great."

Max shook her head as she began to walk back out of her room. "Not a tall order. You got it. Do you need medicine now or within the next hour or so."

"Thank you. In two hours, I will need two Tylenol." Marlowe is grateful for Max being a trooper.

"You're welcome. Get comfy." Shutting the door behind her.

Home, finally, with everything hurting like the doctor said it will be rough but so worth it. Lying on her back, she started to hiccup really bad.. wanting to yell for Max to hurry up. But also reminding 5 that she can't get upset cause it will hurt even more.
deep breathing as she walked back and forth in her room.

Max opens the door slowly. "Sorry, Granny was making that i had everything twice before I came back -" Quickly handed the meds as fast as she could.  "Here."

Taking the medicine. "Thank you. I was about to go down, but..." Marlowe hiccups again.

on her bed. "These hiccups are killing me. i thought I would have more time before having them. They'll go -" Hiccups. "Away soon. I hope."

"Is it okay if I stay in here with you. As much as I love your grandparents, I just want to read or watch some TV."

Marlowe nods. "I'm okay with that. If you get the small portable TV you can watch TV  and read. I'll be sleeping."

Max nods fast. "Thank you." Max was okay with Marlowe sleeping. Heck, she would want to sleep, too.

Hours went by, and it was time for Billy to pick up Marlowe. As Granny opened the door. Billy saw Granny and Steve, but Steve was talking to Max.

"Marlowe still sleeping?"

"Yup. Um, her next dose of medicine is in three hours." Seeing Billy was at the door hoping it wouldn't cause a fight on the way home. "Tell Marlowe I hope she feels better soon." Moving on to talking to Granny. "Thanks for watching me."

"Of course, honey. I'll see you later."

Billy and Max walked over to Billys car. Inside Billy started the car up. "What's wrong with Marlowe?"

"That's her story to tell Billy." Max answered.

"Maaaxxx." Billy warns her as the pullout of the driveway.

"Billy, please. I mean it. She'll tell you when she's ready."

Billy grabs Max's fingers and started to bend them backward. "Maaaaxxxxxxx."

Moaning in pain. "FIINEE." Billy, let's her go. "Marlowe had surgery. I don't know what type it is. All I knew was to remove something, and that's all."

Billy sighed. "See what that so hard?" A million thoughts came all at once. 'Will Marlowe be okay?' 'If I went to see her, would she want me there?' 'No, she would have told me all of this is she wanted me to know'

The thing is, Marlowe didn't want Billy to know. Since Billy has been dating Cat, he's changed. Like she isn't sure about him. But she'll be nice. And if she did tell him, Billy would judge her, telling Marlowe that she took the cheating way out. But it's not cheating. It's no joke. You have to work hard to show that you need the extra help. So Marlowe didn't tell him.

Things weren't going well when Neil came home. He was angrier as ever, Susan did her best to keep him calmed, but that wasn't helping. Max stepped out her room. While Billy was out watching, hoping that he wasn't going to hit Susan. In the corner of Billy's eye, he waved at Max to go back to her room so she wouldn't have to see this. As much as he hated Max, he still didn't want to see what would come next.

Max saw Billy's gesture. But couldn't move it was like she was frozen. Nearly saw both kids out looking at the situation. "Happy kids, happy that mom and dad are fighting with each other, hmmm?" He wasn't drunk or high.

"No, dad. We just wanted to see if everything was okay." Billy spoke.

"Ahh, to see if everything is okay, huh? What do you think I'm going to hit my lovely wife?"

Billy kept his mouth shut. In his head, he shouted at his dad. 'Like how you always hit mom and yelled at her?' Holding the doorknob. "No, sir." Maybe if he did hit her that they will leave. And Billy would never have to be around Max. It would be only him and his dad for another year.

Neil face to face with Billy. "Sorry, excuse for a son. You disappoint me all the time."

Billy was used to hearing his father saying that. It was on repeat in his mind.  No one would love him. No one to care for him. Not even wanted to be family with him. That's mostly why he didn't let anyone it. It was all an act.

Max watched. That's all she could have done. Even if she raised her voice against him. Billy would give her hell on the way to school in the morning. Neil would laugh, and her mother would try her best not to have them all fighting.

No one was happy in that household. Maybe Neil was because he could control them. Or the other possibility that Neil was never happy with himself, and that was how he was raised as well from his dad or mom.

The teens went back to their room as Sausn raised her voice at Neil, knowing that she might get hell too. But the kids shouldn't be involved when he's mad.

Billy wanted no... has to go to Marlowe's  house, just to have a place for tonight that he wasn't going to worry about. Neil broke into his room and beat the shit out of him.
