(Authors Note : An imagine for Shakeria, hope you enjoy!)
Shakeria's POV
"Shakeria, please ma, just try to get along with her fa' me," Aug pleaded, giving me the puppy dog face that he knows I can't handle.
"Fine. But if she pops off at the mouth again, I'm tazin her ass,"
He looked at me shaking his head. Probably cause he knew I' was dead ass serious. I fixed my romper and walked back into his home.
Bianca rushed up to me. "You good, boo?"
I nodded and looked towards Nique's direction. She mugged me and turned her nose up. "Yep, I'm not worried bout that gold diggin hoe."
I knew Unique was trouble the first time I laid eyes on her. Me and August went to dinner and she popped up out of nowhere, inviting herself to sit with us. She seemed decent until she opened her mouth. August couldn't see through her bullshit, but I could. Females know everything. She went on and on about how she was so happy she met him and that she wanted him to take care of her for the rest of her life. Aug found that shit cute; he was completely oblivious to the fact that she's just with him for his money. When I got alone with him, I told him how I felt and he completely dismissed the subject and told me that I was being judgmental.
When August came back inside, he went over to Nique, scooping her up and sitting her in his lap like a baby. "You aight, baybeh?"
She fake pouted. "She's always mean to me, Auggie Bear."
Everyone looked at me when I damn near gagged. Auggie? Thats ugly as fuck. Bianca nudged me and laughed hard.
Finally, his butler came and announced that dinner was ready. Unique,Aug, Bianca, and I followed him into the extravagant dining room, taking our seats.
Halfway through the dinner party, Aug stood up and called for everyone's attention.
"As ya' all know, I'm very in love with Unique."
I fanned myself. "Lawd, I know he not bout to-"
Nique put her hand in my face and shushed me before turning back to him. "Continue, baby."
He gave me an apologetic look before bending down on one knee in front of her. My mind went blank and all of the emotions left my face. I got up from the table and went outside, preparing to leave. Bianca followed close behind and before I could pull off, Aug ran outside and up to the car with a pissed expression.
"So you gone walk out on my first marriage proposal? I called ya ass here to witness it cause ya my best friend, but what kind is you? You ain't even happy for me!" he yelled.
The vein is his neck was bulgin' like it always does when he's angry.
"What kinda best friend am I?! You're marrying a whole hoe after I told you what I thought of her. I'm tryna save your ass from heartbreak, but fuck you and her. I'm not bout to sit around and watch you fuck ya life up."
He kicked the shit out of the side of my car, "Fuck you too, then. I see how it is. Matta fact, get the hell off my property."
I hurried and drove off before I did something I regretted to him. Bianca rubbed my back as my eyes watered, making my vision hazy. If he wanna be like that, then fine. Fuck it.
-------------------------------------------------
Two weeks later, and Aug and I haven't spoken to one another. I got over it and began feeling bad for not being happy for him. But what kind of friend would I be if I let him marry a gold digger without warning him? Whatever, it is what it is. I smoothed out my little black dress and admired my curves in the mirror. Bianca and the guys invited me out to this new club that's opening tonight. August and I have the same friends so 9 times out of ten, he'll be there, along with Nique, which means I need to look my best. No half steppin'.
After a few more moments, Bianca pulled up and we headed to the spot. She kept glancing over at me during the ride and eventually I spoke up.
"Whatchu keep looking at me for?"
"You haven't heard huh?" she asked, putting her eyes back on the road.
"Heard what?"
"That hoe, Nique, ditched August for some basketball player with more money."
This is the moment where I'm supposed to be like I told you so, right? But I was more worried and concerned with how my best friend was holding up. I sighed and shook my head. If I didn't dislike Nique before, I especially did now.
We fixed our makeup a bit before walking inside the club. The guys texted me a few minutes prior, letting us know they already grabbed a table. When we walked up, the first person to look my way was August. He had a certain sadness in his eyes, with a hint of regret. I greeted everyone, him included, before taking my seat next to Chris. The entire time, I tried to avoid August's gaze. Just because he looked sorry doesn't mean I'm ready to forgive him. He basically chose Nique's hoe ass over me, and that just doesn't sit right with me.
"I'll be right back guys, I want another drink."
I got up and went to the bar to order another shot of vodka to get through the night. When the bartender handed me my drink, I felt a presence behind me and turned to see Aug looking down at me.
"So you aint gon' talk ta' me?"
He was so cute, I couldn't help but smile. "You wasn't worried 'bout me at first, why now?"
"I'm sorry for how I acted, ma. I was wrong. You forgive me?"
I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly. I could never stay mad at him, no matter what he does.
"I'm sorry that Nique did you like that. Want me to fight her?" I asked, being serious.
He chuckled and bit his lip. "Nah, save your energy for something else."
I side eyed him. What he mean?
Before I could respond, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards a vacant hall in the back of the club.
"Boy, whatchu-"
"Shut up, you talk alot," he said, grabbing my face and kissing me roughly. "Lemme make it up to ya, aight?"
I nodded in confusion. I'd always been attracted to August, I mean, who wouldn't be? But I've never looked at him as more than a friend..maybe he was just doing this because he felt lonely.
He lifted my dress, pulled my panties to the side, and got on his knees.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he was finished, he helped me get myself back together. I'd came three times and I practically had to beg him to quit. He didn't want anything in return, which was sweet. I don't know where we stand as far as our relationship, but I've never been the type of female to rock the boat. I guess I'll just chill.
We returned to the table, hand in hand. Everyone side eyed us as we scooted into the booth, all smiles. Bianca cleared her throat and whispered in my ear, "You betta give me all the details later on, bitch."
I smiled and threw back another shot.
