Just Run

I loud bang occurred from the outside, pounding onto the front door awaking me from my peaceful slumber. I ruffled my hair as I sat up, attempting to brush it with my fingers. Luke scurried in the through the door with a torch gripped tightly in his hand.

"Hurry up, get out of bed your father is here" says Luke and grabbed my carry bag.

My eyes nearly sprung out of their sockets as I stumbled out of bed. I was clothed in what I wore the day before. I studied myself in the mirror. My purple bruises and faded scars were fully visible. I couldn't see me. Instead I saw a physically broken girl.

I scurried down the stairs to join the others who crowded around the dining table, holding onto their belongings. Michael paced around the kitchen, gathering everything he needed before leading us out.

One question lingered in my head.

How do we get out?

I assume that nearly fifty percent of my father's men were surrounding the house. We cautiously made our way through the back door and into the backyard, jumping the fence. Calum being the person he was had to step of some sort of stick that made a snap loud enough for them to hear.

"Around the corner, move it" hissed my father and the footsteps of my father's men echoed throughout the area.

"Found them! Here they are!" said a man from the gang, aiming his gun.

Before any of us could react Luke pulled out his gun and shot the man.

"Run!" He ordered and we proceed through bushes and chunks of long grass.

My father and the rest of Gang Blood Hound was on our tail. Bullets soared through the air and pierced through the bark of the tall trees. My breathing accelerated and my heart pounded twice as fast.

"Jazmine!" I heard my father shout.

Tears filled my eyes. He couldn't catch me, I couldn't go back home.

"Luke!" I call, almost out of breath.

Luke grabbed my arm and dragged me through a couple of bushes and in through the streets.

"You alright?" He asked.

Am I alright? I wondered if this boy was an idiot. I wasn't alright. I was running away from my father who was suppose to love me, instead he wanted to kill me and I assume he wanted to murder the rest of Gang Unknown too.

"I-I'm scared" I say as we kept running.

My feet grew numb as the minutes ticked by. Luke's bright blue eyes gaze down at me. He linked his pinky onto mine. A bullet flew past my head, inches away from my ear. I heard Ashton groan as a bullet striked his shoulder.

"You can do this Jazmine, don't give up now" Luke said.

We were both so out of breath, we could barley hear our own voices.

"No matter what happens Jazmine" Luke says "just run."

I knew I couldn't keep running away from problems like these I had to somehow fight. But for now I'll listen to what Luke says.

I'll keep running away.
