"Why're you here so late?"

"I need to talk to Reiji now."

"Can't this wait until tomorrow?"

I sighed, and pushed my side bangs out of my eyes, frustrated. "Camus-senpai, I won't bother you at all. And even if Reiji is sleeping.....he'll understand."

There must've been something in my tone that hinted I was close to breaking down. Camus stepped back slowly, and gave me a slight nod before walking back to his room.

I steadily walked to Reiji's room, and knocked on the door. A moment later, his surprised head poked through.

"Akiko? Is something wrong?" Reiji asked, seeing my expression.

"Can we talk?" I asked softly. He nodded, and let me walk into his room. His laptop was opened to his email, but I resisted the urge to read what it contained. Instead, I sat down slowly on one of the soft beanbags, and he followed.

"What's up? Did Ai's recording not go well?" Reiji asked, sounding worried.

I took a deep breath, having rehearsed this line thousands of times already but knowing that no matter how I said it, it didn't make sense, "do you believe in spirits?"

"Spirits?" Reiji echoed, something clouding over his face.

"Yeah. Like someone you were really close to has passed away......but you're still able to talk to them through the body of another person."

He tilted his head slightly, narrowing his eyes, "the body of another person?"

"Reiji......" I knew for a fact that Reiji knew more than me about Ai and Aine, "you know what I'm talking about."

"Kisaragi Aine," it wasn't a question, but a statement said with a flat tone, "why are you bringing him up?"

"You knew.......that I knew Aine?" I took the lack of surprise as a sign that Reiji saw this coming from long ago.

"He used to talk about you all the time," Reiji's eyes clouded over, and he sighed deeply, "I knew a while after I saw you at your school."

"I spoke to him today," even coming out of my mouth, it sounded weird.

Reiji blankly looked at me, "you went to his tomb?"

"No, I spoke to him. Through Mikaze Ai's body," I restated.

At those words, he bolted up and stared at me, something close to fear on his face, "no no no......"

"You know what's going on, right?" I asked, also standing up, "what's the connection between Ai and Aine?"

"How did Aine get through?" Reiji whispered, biting his lip.

I blushed slightly, "I accidently kissed Ai, and then Aine appeared."

"But he shouldn't be able......!" Reiji stopped in mid-sentence, and narrowed his eyes, "were you and Aine dating?"

"No," I shook my head, "though.........."

"I assumed Aine liked you, since he always talked to you. Something like this might actually........" he trailed off once again, unable to finish his sentences.

"This never happened before?"

"Never."

"He said he's sorry to both of us," I suddenly felt the urge to tell him.

Reiji met my eyes, and I was startled to find it filled with tears, "you actually talked to Aine........after all these years........."

"He's glad the two of us are friends," I continued, startled to find tears in my eyes as well, "and he'll always support us."
