"Do you know what holiday's coming up?" I asked, excitedly clapping my hands. Giving me a wry smile, Ai sighed.
"You've only been talking about it every other day. How could I forget?"
"So........." I dragged out the last letter, "what will you dress up as?"
"It's not even a holiday that's widely celebrated here," Ai grumbled.
"But Reiji's hosting a party! So we have to dress up!" I exclaimed, "and I don't know what I'm dressing up as, so I'll help you decide first!"
"An angel," he quietly muttered.
"Huh?" was my intellectual response.
"Can you please let me work now? I need to go," completely ignoring me, he glanced at his watch and got up from the bench.
"Alright, have fun!!" I exclaimed, giving him a bright smile. He smiled back in response, his teal eyes much softer than when I had first met him, before he walked down the sidewalk.
I glanced at my watch as well before secretly smiling as I headed in the opposite direction. At least now I knew what I was going to dress up as.

I fidgeted with my halo for the 9th time as I shuffled my feet nervously in front of the mirror. The doorbell finally rang, and I practically sprinted towards it. Opening it slowly, I automatically burst into a wide smile when I saw who was waiting for me.
"Are you dressed as a devil?" I asked, half in awe and half in amusement.
Devil Ai smiled rather shyly at me, and extended one hand, "I think it's rather cool that we'll be opposites. It was obvious from the start what you were going to dress up as, and so I just thought it would be interesting if I contradicted with your costume."
"I never knew you would actually dress up!" I exclaimed, closing the door and locking it behind me, "it's definitely different seeing you..........like this."
I took his outstretched hand, and we got into the taxi that was already waiting for us. Once we were inside, I couldn't help but take another look at the devil beside me.
"What? Is it odd?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.
"It's different," I laughed, "but you look handsome."
"Handsome? As a devil?" not understanding the compliment, he wrinkled his forehead together in confusion, causing him to look even more adorable than he already looked.
"Just handsome in general," I replied faintly, glancing at our intertwined hands.
"You look beautiful," his unexpected words brought a huge smile upon my face.
"So we must be well-matched together," I joked.
He gave me a smile as the cab slowed down in front of a large building. We thanked the cab driver, and headed to where the party would be held.
"Thank you for agreeing to come," I suddenly remembered, "I know you said Halloween isn't that widely celebrated here, but thanks for coming with me."
"With you it'll be fun," he replied quietly, almost so quietly that I couldn't hear him. But I did, and managed to smile so wide that my mouth started hurting.
"Welcome welcome welcome~~" Reiji flung the door open, as we knocked on the door of the building. The sound of chatter was already emerging from inside, "oh, it's our favorite couple!!"
"Hey Reiji!" I greeted happily, while Ai just gave a simple wave. But Reiji must've already been used to such cold treatment, as he patted both of our heads and waved us inside without another word.
