I hummed to myself softly, as I walked through the busy streets. My straight, black hair fluttered in the slight breeze, also making my blue and white polka-dotted sunhat flutter. The summer heat blazed overhead, and the voices surrounding me threatened to overwhelm everything, but all I was focusing on at that moment was where I was going. Mr. Saotome had called me for an "urgent" meeting today, saying that he had something to share with me.
I had automatically agreed to meet him, of course, but he seemed to have picked the strangest place to meet.
A park.
I finally spotted it, and hurried inside.
It was one of those huge, beautiful parks that tourists would always crowd around, just ogling at how majestic it was. A huge fountain stood at the middle of the park, and was surrounded by gorgeous flower gardens.
During the spring when they were blossoming, people would stay at this park every single day, hoping to catch a glimpse of a flower physically growing before their eyes.
The path were made of smooth stone, and light posts lined the outside. There were patches of grass here and there where people would occasionally go for picnics or to play a sport in when it was the right season.
Many people also got married, or at least had their photo shoots in this garden within the park, increasing its popularity even more.
I had went to this park only with Akira-chan and Amayo-chan before, but both of them were also busy trying to find out where they fitted in, in the entertainment industry. I hadn't talked to them for a while now, but I didn't worry about our friendship. We had been friends for so long that we knew it wasn't necessary to check on each other every single day. We were the type of friends who would meet up and talk when we all had time, but we were in no rush to meet up at all. All that mattered were that all three of us were finding our own place in this world, separately, yet somewhat together as well.
I slowly walked down the stone path, feeling somewhat peaceful. Even though there were, as always, a lot of people here, I hd a feeling I knew why so many people loved this park. Though it was always crowded, it had a way of making people feel like they were alone in it as well, somehow.
"Ms. Sayaka!" A voice suddenly boomed out, and I whipped my head to the left, where I heard the voice. Sure enough, Mr. Saotome was standing there in his usual "work" clothes, looking as happy as ever.
I walked over to him, and bowed, "konnichiwa, Mr. Saotome."
He nodded in reply, "Ms. Sayaka, do you know why you're here today?"
I slowly shook my head, wondering if that was a trick question or not. But Mr. Saotome wasn't one to give trick questions (at least, not that I knew of), so I was wondering what he was trying ot get out of this.
"You are working very hard to find an idol or a group of idols to compose for, yes?" Mr. Saotome questioned. I nodded to confirm it.
"You are someone that has a great talent, and I believe that I can challenge you, to see how far you can go. I'm sure your parents would've wanted me to do that as well, and so I looked into some idol groups you can compose for as well," Mr. Saotome continued. He suddenly smiled at me, and winked, "and I've found a group that I believe will challenge your composing skills. They are quite an amazing and all perfectionists, like you. And the thing is, they don't have a firm composer. I believe that you, Ms. Sayaka, can compose the best songs for that group."
"Thank you, sir," I replied. Who could that idol group possibly be? A group that could challenge my composing skills? What was that supposed to mean?
