Humming lightly to myself with a never-fading smile on my face, I idly swung my legs as I waited to meet Mr. Saotome for what he called a "progress check". The four individual songs had been released with huge success, achieving an all-kill on music charts. It had even spread worldwide.
"Ah, Ms. Akiko, nice to meet youuuuuu," Mr. Saotome, as usual, spun into the room out of nowhere. I stood up and bowed towards him respectfully before sitting back down.
"Mr. Saotome, long time no see," I offered him a smile.
"As you know, your latest songs have been met with a lot of success," he began, taking off his sunglasses to stare intensely at me.
"Yes," I nodded.
"And so I want to give you another challenge~" he stood up, and skipped his way to where Ringo-sensei was standing.
"We want you to compose a group song for them, to perform at their next concert and to start a Japanese concert tour," Ringo finished, as cheerful as always.
"A group song?" I echoed.
"It may be a challenge for you, but you are veeeery interesting, Ms. Akiko," Mr. Saotome informed me, "and you have plenty of time. I trust youuuuuuuuuuu."
"Thank you, I'll do my best," I smiled back at him, "I'll compose a great group song!"
"Good. One more thing," he walked over towards me, "idols are not allowed to date. You know this very well, correct?"
"Yes," I replied as casually as possible, trying not to blink more than usual or to show any hints that I was hiding something, "of course."
"Good," he nodded once more, and gestured towards the door, "you are free to go. I look forward to hearing your wonderfulllllll compositions again."
"Thank you," I bowed to him and Ringo-sensei once more before heading out of the building. Once outside, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, and shook my head.
"No way....." I thought out loud, "they can't possibly know already, right? They can't. No."
"Know what?" Syo popped out of nowhere, scaring me.
"Ya! Stop doing that!" I whacked him on the head, "why can't you approach me from the front?!"
"That's no fun," he pouted, "but......what were you talking about?"
"Nothing," I muttered, avoiding his eyes as I sped up my walking to the exit gates.
"Ehhhhh," Syo clearly didn't believe me, "what is it!?"
"Can you keep a secret?" I glanced around, but no one else was near us.
"Yes!" he automatically replied eagerly, leaning forward.
"Well........." I hesitated, unable to keep the smile off my face, "I"m kind of dating Ai."
"WHAT!!??" he literally screamed, almost falling backwards in shock.
"Geez, why're you so surprised?" I asked, not sure if I should've felt offended or not.
"He's.....incapable of being human! He's a slave driver! His schedules are insane!" Syo sputtered, "does he make schedules for your dates?"
"NO!" I exclaimed, "Syo, maybe you're just really unorganized. You do need some discipline."
"Taking his side already, I see," he muttered darkly. I hit him on the arm.
"Stop it!" I yelled.
"But um," he leaned closer, "is he nice to you? Does he make you happy?"
I bit back a smile at his concern, "of course, Syo. No need to worry."
