A Long Talk

We had been walking in complete silence for about 5 minutes now.

How did I get myself into this again?

Oh yeah. I wanted to be a composer.

But why did he have to pick me up?

Him, out of all of the members of Quartet Night?

Why couldn't it be Kotobuki-senpai? He seemed to be the most cheerful and most welcoming out of the four.

But this silence was just too awkward for me. Since I was usually always with Akira and Ayame, I was used to be constant chatter of those two. No matter what we would talk about, we would always end up laughing.

But with Mikaze-senpai? To be honest, he made me a bit nervous. Not only because he was an idol and older than me, but because there seemed to be a certain aspect of him that made him seem.....unfriendly.

But if I was to become their composer, I would have to get to know them better, right? I couldn't be scared of them. That would probably be reflected on the songs I would attempt to compose for them, which wouldn't end well for either of us. Especially not me. I could just imagine Mikaze-senpai glaring at me.

I unintentionally shivered, but he didn't seem to notice. Though he was right beside me, he looked straight ahead and didn't seem to be distracted by anything. There were so many cars, and people walking all around us. But he didn't even bat an eye at them. He just kept on walking towards our destination.

Did I mention that he didn't even bother to try to get to know me?

I heard him sigh, and automatically turned to look at him. His teal-colored hair was the most eye-catching hair color ever.

"If you have something to say, then just say it," Mikaze-senpai told me, glancing at me briefly.

"W-why are you picking me up?" I blurted out, against my better judgement.

"Because I have to," he replied automatically.

"Yeah but.......why you?" I asked hesitantly.

"Would you have preferred someone else?" he asked to me. More to himself, he muttered, "who is the most welcoming member in our group?"

"Um no.........you're fine. But was there a reason?" I persisted.

"I was the only one in the studio at that time. The other three had already left for various reasons. I had stayed there because I wanted to ask the producer a question," Mikaze-senpai answered.

"So was this a spur-of-the-moment decision?" I tried to dig deeper.

"No. He undoubtedly planned this way before he told me," Mikaze-senpai replied firmly, in a way that made me know that I shouldn't question him any longer in that subject area.

"So......" I began again, unable to take the silence again. Mikaze-senpai examined me in a cool way, but I could see that there was a bit of puzzlement on his face.

"If you have a question, you should just ask it as well," I pointed out before he could look away. He raised an eyebrow as if he was impressed by my observation skills.

"Those two friends back there. Have they been your friends for long?" Mikaze-senpai questioned.

"Yes. They've been with me ever since I entered the academy," I replied, a smile tugging on my face as I thought of them.

"They both want to become idols, correct?" he continued.

"Yes," I agreed not knowing what was coming next.
