Chapter 9: Sleepy Equals Drunk

When I woke up, it’s already afternoon. Josh and Drake already went home. I went downstairs, not bothering to put any clothes on, just my Batman boxer which Natalie gave me on our birthday.

I walked groggily in the kitchen and the first thing I saw is Georgina with a broken nose, eating pancakes with my sister.

I laughed loudly because Georgina looks really ugly but I was cut short when she roundhouse kick me in the nugget. “What’d you that for?!” I yelled.

“Get up and take me home!” She yelled back.

“The hell, GG.”

“I hate that name!”

“GG!”

“Virgin!”

I scowled at her.

There’s no point in arguing with this girl and I know the least I can do for her is to drive her home. I get dressed in the usual T-shirt and sweatpants then drove her home.

It’s a very quiet drive and I’m not intending to start a conversation because that’s not exactly what I normally do. I stopped the car in her driveway and walked her to her door and opened it for her. I expect her to go inside but she turned around and looked at me.

“The least thing you can do is tell me why you hug her.” She said. “That’s why I broke my nose anyway.”

“I don’t know.” I said honestly.

“Do you like her?” she asked me.

I sighed, “Not in that way…”

“Do you like her?” she asked again.

“Georgina…”

“I drove over your place at two in the morning and passed your two macho guards and climb your balcony then when I reached your window I heard you guys talking and wanted to surprise you! But what did I get? I was the one surprised with a broken nose when all I really wanted to know is why you hug Aria so don’t give me that crap and answer the question!” She said breathlessly, making me feel guilty.

“Do you like her? Just a simple yes or no.”

Do I like Aria Gabriels?

Sure, I want to be friends with her so that ought to count right? I mean, Georgina didn’t specifically ask if I like Aria in a particular kind of way, she’s asking if I like Aria in general.

“Yes.” I admitted.

Georgina smiled widely then suddenly grimaced, moaning in pain. “I feel so ugly right now. My nose hurts like a bitch.”

“You’re still beautiful.” I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes, “You laughed.”

“Your nose is ugly. But your other features are still pretty.”

“I feel so much better.” She rolled her eyes. “Thanks.”

I gave her a meaningful look. “GG-“

“Don’t call me that.”

“Georgina.” I said this time, “Talk to Josh.”

She blinked in surprise. “I talk to him.”

“You know what I mean…”
