Chapter 13: Dark Night, Dark Alley, Dark Thoughts, Heavy Rain

I spent the whole day thinking of all the possibilities of me dying tonight. I even made the greatest mistake of asking my mother for an advice on what should I do to make a first good impression.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and saw it is a text from my mother.

From: Mother

Just smile, dear. Love you.

Smile…

That is such a wonderful idea considering Aria’s father has his rifle all shiny and ready. Sure, smiling would be the best thing to do before dying.

It is said in the Dads with Pretty Daughters Rulebook:

Page 1. Rules for Dating My Daughter: #1. You can’t.

It’s not like I’m dating her but I really have no idea what my father told Aria’s father on the phone last night, that he even wants to meet me in person and have dinner with them tonight.

I’m just hoping it’s not about when he saw me cupping Aria’s butt. I would really die tonight if that’s the case.

But what if that’s the case?

“Thinking about the dinner, aren’t we?” Josh nudges me while walking on the parking lot.

I inhaled a deep breath. “Josh, have you met any of your girl’s parents?” I asked him.

“Nope. I don’t do that stuff.” He chuckled. “Don’t get me wrong, I dig deep, but not that deep.”

What is he talking about?

“Elaborate.” I mumbled.

I heard him sighed dramatically. “I do relationships… you know, dating, fooling around and stuff, like that, this, those… I never cheat and I take my girls seriously… half of the time, that is. But, meeting parents are just a no-no for me. It’s like a way of saying you’re ready to take your relationship to the next level, deeper and more complex.”

“But you met Georgina’s parents… when you’re dating her.” I asked, looking at him teasingly.

He gulped and I smirked.

“You know Georgina is different…”He said quietly.

Georgina and Josh has this weird relationship where they love each other but acted as friends because they don’t want to risk their awesome friendship in something that can end up badly. That is so stupid because they realize it when they’re already dating and end it just like that. Their friendship is more important, they said.

Stupids.

It’s obvious both of them haven’t moved on yet. Josh might be a total manwhore but it’s just an act to tell Georgina he’s already moved on, when in fact, he’s the one who took their break-up badly.

Really bad…

“I know Georgina is different. That’s why you haven’t moved on yet.”

Josh suddenly stopped walking and yanks me to face him. “You can’t tell her.” He said seriously.

“I don’t have to tell her. It’s obvious.” I pointed out.

“She’s moved on, it’s going to be awkward.” He muttered, looking away.
