Chapter 12: Feel Like It

“So what’s the story of Yvonne?” Aria asked, sitting on the floor, toying with the phone in her hands.

Suddenly, my door banged open and Drake barged in looking like a wild animal. “I need to talk to you.” He said breathlessly, looking at me. “Now.”

I hastily got up and followed Drake outside. “What’s wrong?” I asked as we ran down the stairs and head to the living room. “Drake, what’s up?” I asked again.

He turns around and points at the tall glass window behind the white sofa. “Look.” He ordered, looking at me.

I walk closely towards the window and look, all I can see is our gate and trees. I turn around and raise my eyebrows at him. “Yeaah?”

“Just look!” Drake urged and I turn around and look at it again.

Two black cars suddenly passed by on the road.

“Those cars… I keep on seeing them today.” Drake trailed seriously and I look at him. “Outside the school, in this street, in front of your house. Dude, it’s the third time they passed your gate!” He gulped.

I look at the window again and search our guards. “If those cars are suspicious, the guards would already do something about it.” I said.

“My thoughts exactly.” Drake mumbled.

We heard a girl’s voice descending down the stairs. “I told you I don’t need body guards! Amanda is enough! I can take care of myself. You don’t have to order someone to follow me everywhere I go. I’m in a friend’s house, please don’t tell me you actually send someone to--”

Then the voice becomes muffled.

Drake looks at me. “I think she’s heading towards the garden…”

“I think it has something to do with the black cars.” I nodded.

Drake nodded too. “I think you should go and calm her a bit. She sounds angry.”

“And I think we have something to talk about later, concerning your weird behavior earlier.” I nodded again.

Drake shook his head this time. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“I think it is.” I said and walk towards the garden.

I saw Aria pacing back and forth; it’s only a matter of time before she started to grow horns and breathes fire.

She is so angry I’m actually amazed.

She saw me watching her and she sighed in her phone. “We’ll talk about this later. Bye dad.” She said then hung up. “Sorry about that…” she apologized, biting her bottom lip.

“I do that a lot when talking to my father.” I smirked. Remembering how I even throw vases and lamps out of anger. “I would ask you if you’re okay but I’d rather not.”

Aria smiled a little. “Why is that?”

“I hate asking obvious things.” I shrugged, walking towards her. “And you’re obviously not okay.” I pointed out.

Aria sighed again and we started to circle the big fountain in the middle of the garden. “Can you distract me? You know, tell me some story just so I can calm myself…” She asked, stuffing her phone in her pocket, sitting on the edge of the fountain then patting the space next to her. “Sit here.”

“I have a very boring life, I really don’t have any stories to share.” I said, sitting next to her.

Aria hummed. “Tell me how you met the guys.”
