Emergency Call (29)

We enter the mansion and I take in the dark decor and the tall glass windows. "How long has this been here?" I ask as I take in everything. "Three years I think. Your Father has business here." "He pretty much has business everywhere." Tayo says entering the house with bags in his hands. "He can build houses but not find his lost daughter."  "Estrella." Sterling says watching me with sad eyes.

"Everyone tried, you killed most of us. We never knew where you were, but look you're here now and that's all that matters." Sterling says as I nod my head. "Where's my room?" I ask as Tayo and Sterling look at each other then me. "Where ever you want, it's your house." "No it's my dad's." "Well yes but it's yours as well. Yeah your dad has business here but he built it for you." Tayo says leaning up against one of the walls. "Wait what? You're saying that this is mine?" I ask astonished. "Yeah." Tayo says. "This house is yours Estrella, all yours." Sterling says as a smile grows on my face.

"Okay then I want the masters suite." I say smirking. "Alright, it was yours to begin with but." Tayo says laughing. All of a sudden I hear a phone go off and Sterling groans as he grabs his phone out of his pocket. "I'll be back." He says disappearing into another room. "Who's Sterling's father?" I ask as Tayo freezes for a quick second. "A cold man, he controls the rouges, and just about every vampire nightclub. He's had a rough past, not to mention being Royal has some issues. It's not for me to explain." Tayo says going mute.

"I'll be back, let me drop off your bags to your room." He says as he picks up the bags on the hardwood and sprints off. Sterling comes back with a defeated look on his face. "What's the matter?" I ask softly. "I need to go back and fight. That was your father." Sterling says as I sigh. "Is Tayo going with you?" I ask as he shakes his head no. "I'm leaving him with you. I'm so sorry." He says lowering his head. "It's ok. Just be safe." I say smiling and he smiles back.

"I will I promise." He says pulling me into a tight hug. "And you need to drink blood while I'm gone." "I will try." I say as he clicks his tongue. "No you will or you'll be on those crutches forever. Your father told me to let you know he wants you to begin your royal studies." "And what do I even study for that?" "He'll send books, you'll learn how to run a kingdom and our customs. Tayo will help you."

"When are you leaving?" I ask as he pulls me closer and leans in for a kiss. "Tonight." He whispers as he pulls back and then goes back in as I close my eyes in pleasure. "I don't want to leave." He whispers once more. We both hear some fake coughs behind us and we both pull apart to Tayo hiding back a smirk. "Tayo." Sterling says as he regains his composure. "Yeah Sterling?" He asks.

"I've been called back. I need you to stay here and help Estrella with her royal studies." "You're the royal shouldn't you teach her? Not that I can't but. Now it makes sense why you were both making out in the living room." Tayo says smirking at me. "Tayo just teach her." Sterling says frustrated. "What's in it for me?" Tayo asks as I hear Sterling growl. "Damn." Tayo says raising his hands in mock surrender. "What do you want Tayo?" Sterling asks. "One I want to have a week off my dads business whenever I feel like it." "Done." Sterling says quickly.

"Second I want to be on Estrella's council when she becomes queen." He says watching my reaction. "Now Tayo you do know that's her decision." "I'm well aware." He says waiting for my reaction. "Tayo leave her be. You gain her trust and I'm sure she'll give you a spot. You can't just ask her for a spot, you know that." "Fine. But third I want to call Anabelle to fix her." "No! You know she'll want something in return and you can't pay that price. Don't you dare bring Estrella into your sneaky business." Sterling says eyes ablaze.

"She owes me a few favors, plus I would love to see how it will work on her. And Anabelle has been dying to meet her. She'll do it free just to have good terms with the future ruler. It'll take weeks for Estrella to heal, we don't have that time." Tayo says as he sits upon the couch. "Anything else?" Sterling asks as Tayo shakes his head no.

"If you kill her by doing this." "She won't die!" Tayo screams. "Anabelle can determine what will happen to her in the future. We already know she has our speed but what else does she have? Wouldn't you like to know? Cause I sure do. What happens when she dies? Does she turn to one of us? Or die completely. There's never been something like her." Tayo says looking at me in admiration. "She's still Royal. You don't need to know all her little secrets." Sterling says annoyed.

"I'm completely approving of her leading us, she'll have a heart unlike her father." Tayo laughs. "Don't asks Anabelle about Estrella's DNA. Have her heal her and leave it as that. It's not our business to know its only Estrella's. And if I hear that you betrayed my order I'll send you to the pits myself." Sterling says as Tayo's eyes go wide and nods his head in agreement.
