LIL'S POV:

The light faded from behind my eyes, and I was scared.

What happened? Why is everything so dark? Did I just... die?

I had absolutely no sense of what was going on. All I knew was that I was frightened, and I was alone.
But suddenly, there was light -- or more like a cacophony of lights. Vibrant colors -- pinks, greens, blues -- swirled together and moved around each other as if they were dancing. The colors flashed brighter, and dimmer. They came closer, and went so far away that I could barely see them. Then all at once they came rushing towards me, and swirled together so quickly that I could feel the space around me vibrating from the intensity.
The air sparked with electricity, the colors spun and spun until finally all that was left was an explosion of a bright, white light -- and then everything was quiet again.

When things settled down, I saw that everything around me was white. It was as if I was in a white room, with a harsh fluorescent light beating down on me. I realized that I could feel my body again, but it was different. My limbs felt lighter, and when I looked down at my hands, I noticed that they had a strange glow around them. I turned my hands over and saw that deep green lines covered the backs, and they travelled up my arms. I noticed then, also, that I was wearing a baby blue dress. It fell down to about my ankles, and had a darker blue ribbon tied around my waist.

I heard what sounded like the cry of a seagull, and my head snapped up. The whiteness stretched on forever. I spun in every direction, searching for some clue as to where I could possibly be, and all I saw was this infinite of white. The noise echoed through the strange place again, louder.

"Hello?" I asked out loud.

I turned in another slow circle, and as I came about, I could just make out the faintest outline of something dark in the distance. I squinted, trying to get a better view of what it was, but it was too far away.

I cupped my hands over my mouth and shouted, "Hello! Can you hear me?"

The object in the distance did not acknowledge me, but instead it moved further away. I started to panic. This was my only sign of figuring out where I was, and it was leaving.

"Hey! Wait!" I screamed at the object.

I lifted then bottom of the blue dress with my hands and took off running after the mysterious object. Even though I placed one foot in front of the other, it felt as if I was running to no where. I didn't get any closer to the object, no matter how fast I ran. It began to disappear.

"No! Wait!" I yelled.

Suddenly my foot came down on something squishy, and it made me stop. Confused, I looked down to see that I was standing on what looked like wet sand. I lifted one foot and looked at the sand beneath it.

"What the...?" I wondered.

When I looked forward again, to see if the strange object had left, I was shocked to see the ocean. The scenery composed itself before my eyes and all of a sudden I was standing on the shore of Crystal Beach. The ocean water was a light blue, and the sun shone down on the white sand. The green palm trees swayed with the gentle breeze, and my ankles were tickled by the small waves.

I was getting more worried by the second. Where was I? And how did I get to Crystal Beach?

Without notice, the wind picked up. The palm trees bent over so far that I feared they would break in half. The sky was covered in dark, vicious looking clouds that opened up and drenched the beach in a torrential down pour. The waves in the ocean began to grow, and soon enough they reached heights taller than a building. A second gust of wind came around that pelted the rain against my face. I felt my feet wobble in the uneven sand, and I held a hand up to my face to protect it from the harsh rain. The third gust of wind, strongest of them all, succeeded in knocking me over, and I fell onto the mushy sand. It pinned me in place, not letting me move. The lightning ripped through the dark clouds, making the ground shake and illuminating the large waves. But above all that, there was a scream. An ear shattering, heart breaking scream that rang above the chaos. A scream with one word.
My name.
