Natsu P.O.V
----The world just...froze. I couldn't believe it. Was it really you, Lucy?
I looked up, almost breaking into tears as a familiar streak of blonde hair flew in the wind, a dazzle of blue eyes and an instantly recognisable scent stood protectively in front of my friends.
With one hand up to stop Zeref, Lucy stood there, panting heavily with the dried blood on her face now fading away slowly. I jumped slightly, my emotions now whirring around as she turned her head to face me, her sweet smile now directed at me with her eyes closed, small drops of tears on the end of her eyelids.
"I made it in time Natsu..." She said, covering her mouth to stop herself from completely bursting into tears.
I've finally lost it.
I felt my own sour drops fall from my eyes, Zeref now on his knees.
"L-Lucy's alive?" He stuttered, amazed as we all were. She had managed to travel from the far bench and appear in time to stop Zeref from injuring or worse, killing anyone.
Lucy dropped her arms slowly, everyone bruised and battered across the floor as they struggled to get up. Still grasping my anger tightly, I took the chance.
Out of nowhere, I hopped up and dashed full speed at the dark wizard, aiming a knockout punch to his face.
"Natsu!" I heard Lucy shout, but it was too late. My fist was inches away from Zeref, who was currently kneeling with his eyes shut tight.
I send him plunging backwards, his body sprawling onto the dirt. I walked up to him, his face now covered in small bruises and cuts. I heard him whisper, "You can't destroy me Natsu. Nothing can, as long as there is light, there is always...d-darkness."
He struggled to say the last word, as if he didn't want to. Out of pure surprise, a dark portal appeared, two mysterious figures stepping out. Both wearing hoods, but one was white, the other was a deep purple.
In an instant, the white drew a small dagger and held it across my throat, while the purple helped Zeref up, the dark wizard standing with no bruise mark on him.
"Shall I kill him?" The white said, pushing it closer into my neck. His voice sounded, familiar. "No." Zeref said plainly. "Remove your hoods."
They both turned to him, as if they were amazed by his suggestion. "Well, what are you waiting for?"
The white pulled the blade away from my throat, but not before pulling down his hood, revealing a familiar batch of brown hair and musky almond eyes.
"Freed Meth?!" I said, a smirk appearing on his face. The purple pulled down his hood as well, Connah glaring at me as he released his grip from Zeref.
I returned my gaze to Freed, who spoke, "Long time no see guys. Been hearing from ol' Zeref here that a lot of stuff has been happening here at the resort."
"One including Natsu getting his head bashed in my a huge rock." Connah butted in, crossing his arms. I growled.
Lucy took a step forward, but Freed shook his head, holding up a hand. He turned to reveal his neck. No Celestial Origin mark. "Don't Lucy. We're no longer part of your guild."
Connah lifted his arm, a sleeve falling down. "No mark, see. Also caught Erza studying it when we were packing for your trip."
He looked towards Erza, who was still lying on the ground. "I don't care about that! I knew you withdrew from the guild a few days before we departed. I put trackers on the marks, remember? You disappeared one day, but you still showed up at the guild hall. I knew then." Lucy exclaimed, soon after grasping her arm tightly.
"I told you." Zeref said quietly, crossing his arms while receiving glances from both Freed and Connah.
"Enough of that, Lucy, your coming with us."
That one sentence caught everyone's attention. Even Erza was now pulling her battered body off the ground. "W-What?" Milli said, her hand now glowing, getting ready for a battle.
"Lucy knows why, and she knows what will happen if she doesn't. Don't you Lucy?" Connah said, pulling his hood back up and reopening the portal.
Freed shoved me out the way harshly, holding a hand out to Lucy. She soon refused, but I cringed as he whispered something slowly into her ear.
As he pulled away, he put his hood back on, his hand still out. As I turned to Lucy, her eyes where now wide with terror, and she stared at Freed's open hand, the wind from the portal making his hood sway subtly.
After a few seconds of silent tension, Lucy ran up to me, burying her head into my chest while she spoke quietly.
"I'm sorry Natsu, but you're going to have to forget about me."
"L-Luce, what are you saying?"
"Lets just say, I will see you again...someday."
She pushed my forehead into hers, a single tear dropping from her eye. With that over, she dashed away before I could hold her back, placing her hand on Freed's who lead her to the portal.
"Natsu. I will see you again...someday. Never forget that."
Without another word, she disappeared through the swirling hole, leaving with Freed and Conah. Least of all, Zeref.
"LUUUUUUUCY!" I shouted, bashing my fist into the ground so hard a swear it moved.
"I swore..." I started, crying into the ground.
I swore I'd never leave you...
