;emily;

I had barely been home for half an hour, just sitting on the roof when I heard someone enter my room.

"Emily?" Luke called out from below as I sighed, climbing down and into my bedroom. "Where were you?" he questioned, not seeing me come in from the window. I shrugged at him, playing dumb.

"What do you want? Do you know how to knock?" I groaned, fluffing my hair a bit as I plugged my phone in. He smirked at me, making me roll my eyes. Damn did I hate this boy.

"I'm having friends sleep over. They're going to be here soon. Stay in your room." I scoffed, flipping him off.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't want to be around you and your friends anyways."

"Oh, and mum wants us downstairs."

Luke and I jogged downstairs in silence, completely ignoring each other. Liz glared at Luke as she saw him attempt to trip me, slapping him on the arm lightly. He winced, apologizing to her, but not to me of course.

"I assume Luke told you his three best friends will be coming over?" I nod at her, playing with my hands a bit. "They'll probably just hang out in the basement. Emily, I want you to spend time with them as well." my eyes widen and I cough. I have to spend time with Luke and his friends? No thanks.

"What? No! She- she can't hang out with us!" Luke splutters, Liz shushing him and leaving the room.

She tells us her and Andrew are going out for the night, and that we need to behave and hang out. She also said she would be asking Ashton if I was with them, because Ashton is afraid to lie to Liz. She leaves us money for dinner before they leave, both of us left in shock.

"She can't be serious." I say quietly, shaking my head. Luke shoves me and my thigh hits the table of the corner, me crying out in pain. "You're an asshole."

"You're ruining my life!" he shouts, dumping some chips into a bowl. He also takes out four waters, putting them on the counter.

"I didn't choose to move in here! I didn't choose to be a foster child!"

"I didn't choose for you to move in either! You're such a bitch, just get out of my life!" I glare at him, shoving him backwards as he hits the wall. "Don't push me!" he yells again, shoving me into the counter.

"Stop it you asshole!" I groan, pushing him again.

Luke and I shove each other back and forth, and I accidentally punch him in the face. He turns red, holding his lip as he shoves me again with full force; I fall to the ground.

"We're home, bitch!" someone yells, slamming the door.

Three familiar boys walk in, eyes widening at the scene of me on the floor looking angry, and Luke holding his now swollen lip also looking angry. I scoff, standing up and brushing myself off before shoving Luke again, rushing away before he can do it back. Of course his long leg reaches out and trips me as I fall to the floor again.

Him and his friends snicker a bit, me glaring at a smirking Luke as I stand up. I examine his friends, realizing I have at least one class with all of them.

"Um, what the hell happened?" the one with pink hair says slowly, raising his eyebrows. He has a small smile on his face though, also amused.

"This is my parents pity project, Emily. She's a foster." Luke snaps, holding ice to his lip now. I swallow slowly before licking my lips. He's right, I am a pity project. I always am.

"Okay, but where is Liz, and why are you fighting her?" The curly haired one says, giggling. He's the one in art who wouldn't stop laughing, I'd remember that anywhere.
